    singing in the church at age 6...third generation from the HARGROVE/GASKINS family singers from the southern region or deep south....raised in baltimore , md. first cousin to diva JOECELYN BROWN and nephew to super diva BARBARA ROY (ah) He started clarinet at age 9, picked up the sax around age 16.later, the 6 YEAR NAVY MAN, (whew) began writing dance/house music round 24, wrote four consecutive BILLBOARD/CASHBOX charted hits. moved to new york city to form local bands playing clubs. toured with GORDON EDWARDS' "STUFF" band later to join the PHYLISS HYMAN BAND on her last 2 tours .during that met ROY AYERS and 6 months later joined him for 4 world tours before starting his first of SIX SOLO PROJECTS starting with SOUL CRUSADE (1994) then banging out the funky cd "CAN'T STOP" and the acid jazz gershwin track "SUMMERTIME" (95) that topped UK charts and sales for over six months. REACH (96) soon followed with feat guests ROY AYERS, TOM BROWNE, JOCELYN BROWN and the LONDON COMMUNITY GOSPEL CHOIR. "SHADY LANE" (97) also expanded his sucess on europeon media. in 2000 the TIMEPIECES(2000)project featured again fantastic solo work from ROY AYERS. A NIGHT IN THE LIFE" marks as the first US based recording personnel feat talents of TONY BUNN bass, CLAYTON McCLENDON guitar, ROBERT DUPREEperc, DAWOUD SAIDkeys, EZELL JONESdrums, MARSHALL BOOZEguitar,and JUSTINE HALLvocals.
