I guess you can call them.. MY FANS! Wuu Wuu! haha
I was born and raised in a city not too far away from Los Angeles on August 21st, 1987. My parents, on the other hand, come from Mexico. They were both born in cities just by the border.
I first started singing professionally at the age of 9, but before that I would have nightly performances in my oldest sister's room. Singing along to tracks by Lucero and Pedro Fernandez, both famous Mariachi singers. I found out about a talent show that was going to be held at my school and immediately told my sister about it. She asked me if I was positive about doing it and I definitely thought I was. So we began practicing for the big day and we didn't let ANYONE hear me sing throughout that time besides my sister. My parents, my other sister, and the rest of my family were completely unaware of my ability to sing at the time. So, the day of the talent show finally came and not that I remember well but I could imagine I was nervous to be performing in front of a LIVE audience for the first time in my life. So I got up on that stage and gave MY ALL into my performance, by doing that I took home 1st place. That was one out of over 6 talent shows in which I took home 1st place. The day after my first talent show and debut to the world, my parents signed me up for voice lessons. I was enrolled in them 8 years following that.
When I was 10 I begged my parents to sign me up for guitar lessons and that brought on a whole other world to me. I caught on quite well, according to my teacher I was a fast learner. It was only because I was so dedicated to moving forward and so in love with Mariachi music. Mariachi music is what started it all for me and is what I continue to play today. I was a guitarist and singer in a Mariachi from Los Angeles by the name of "Mariachi Juvenil Voz de America" for 6 years. With them I performed at shows such as "Fiesta Broadway" and we toured for 2 weeks in Guadalajara, Mexico in September 2003. In 2006, I became a member of the senior group, “Mariachi Voz de America”. I have loved performing and playing with these groups, but I would love even more to be on my own as a solo artist. It's what I've been wanting to do since that first Talent Show. Before I used to think my first album would be a Mariachi album. Now that I've actually written and composed songs, I've realized that my style in music is somewhere along the lines of soft rock, and at times can be R&B. Although that is what I consider my style, I would love to do a Mariachi album somewhere along my career.
I've been on a long journey to reaching my dream, and I know there's still a long road ahead of me. I thank God for the support of my family and friends that surround me with their overwhelming love and support. I pray for guidance in this dream, because I know in order to achieve my goals I have to have God on my side, to give me strength and guidance. I have many people that I am forever grateful for, for inspiring me to do what I love. Who knows what the future may hold for me, but with whatever may come- I am prepared to give my all to fulfill my dream.
