About Ray
Ray has been a musician from an early age and has played guitar in more bands than he cares to remember, from eclectic to electric and all points between. Ray is a singer, song-writer and composer, with expertise in many styles of guitar playing and musical formats. Ray is also a lutenist.

Over the last few years, Ray has become interested in the more traditional side of composing and music-making. ‘Enchanted Heart’ is a collection of pieces has been created using the natural sounds of the instruments, without the over-saturation of modern technological effects.
‘Enchanted Heart’ is a collection of acoustic music, strongly rooted in the Celtic folk tradition of Britain, and embracing a multitude of styles from contemporary to classical, both old and new, and seeming to cross centuries. This eclectic mix of songs, airs, incantations, reels and ragas, with unforgettable lyrics, intertwining rhythms and lilting melodies, dances between time and eternity, and draws upon the listening human heart.
‘Enchanted Heart’ can be bought from Red Dog Records www.reddogrecords.co.uk, from Rose’s Corner, Bridge Street Upton-upon Severn, and direct from Ray Mytton.
Testimonials for ‘Enchanted Heart’
“A delightful cd. Recorded superbly, and performed from the heart, lovely, wistful, ethereal music. I particularly enjoyed track three and track ten, and the one inspired by yours truly. VERY flattered and touched by that, thank you. I loved some of the instrumentation; the flute and the cello worked really well. I congratulate you on a job well done!”

“If this is your first album, it is conceived and executed to a rare degree, really lovely. It is all of a piece. Listening to it is a bit like having one of those nice dreams one occasionally has, when you dream everything is right. ‘Watching the Rain’ is rather special, but all the tracks are wonderful, not a moment’s doubt about any of them, so another affirmative from me. It also quintessentially English, which is nice. I wish I could dedicate my songs to recording this comfortably – it isn’t that easy.”
