jousting, armour, SCA, IJA, vinting, horses, horses, riding, watching movies, paticularly sad, old and/or historical, reading, computers (games not so much), internet, technology, history (medieval, rennaissance, AWI, ACW), art
I am, not suprising, very ecclectic here too - anything from modern pop, country, classical, classic 80's rock, folk music, celtic, medieval and rennaissance pieces, really - just about anything.
Movies
Favorites would include in no paticuarly order, Dangerous Beauty, For Love of the Game, Lonesome Dove, most Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns, anything with Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, or Nicole Kidman, 9 1/2 Weeks, Bourne series, Gettysburg, many more.
Television
Used to love History channel, A&E, Learning channel and Discovery. Note: past tense. Could be a CNN morning news junkie (Robin & Company), like things like Friends, CSI, and above notes. Occasionally watchs some sports, more odd stuff like rodeo. Best of all time: Miami Vice.
Books
Lord of Rings Trilogy, Hobbit, - listing by author and type: Tolkien obviously, Tad Williams, Bernard Cornwall, Allison Wear, anything historical non-fiction (most of what I read these days)
Heroes
epic characters from history that are knightly in manner and stature (ie Robert E. Lee), knights on white horses, dark haired angels, anyone who stands for their beliefs, kids of divorced parents.
And here is a quote, "Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday."
About me: I am the study of opposites. I am a high tech geek that spends more hours then I care to count in front of a computer on a weekly basis as a job and for free time. Yet, given the opportunity I will head out to the barn for a ride with the horses, or better yet, forsake all modern things and return to the 14th century for a round or two of jousting. Oh and you can get a much feel for me with my blog at mephistos.com (yes, I have one here on myspace, but I write a LOT more often at the one noted).
Who I'd like to meet: Henry V, Edward of Woodstock, Robert E. Lee, Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln, Elizbeth I, J.R.R. Tolkien, William Marsall, Napeleon, James Longstreet, William the Conquerer, many others from history and literature... John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, especially Willie Nelson, George Straight
Any man can become a knight When love becomes his living light Whatever it takes he will do His only thought, to rescue you A dragon he will slay while on his own He will battle an army all alone He would enter the darkness where spirits gather For without her, life would just not matter So brave a rescue but still a man When fate can void his master plan He makes full use of sword and shield Against dark knights cold hardened steel The power of good versus the force of evil The greater force his heart must equal This time the enemy calls a retreat The rescue mission is now complete A heroes welcome she begins to prepare Her heart has chosen no one can compare He asks for her hand and she does agree Her shining knight becomes her prince to be
*Abaigael was walking to the Castle McBride when she saw Sir Ray come from behind her. She waved..She knew he had fought many battles with her brothers in Edinburgh...
"Sir Ray, good day! Are you going to the meeting too, then? And why aren't you in battle with my brothers?"
