Rodrigo Salazar of Impacto Latin News says, “It may be the only current party that will spawn an artistic movement or musical revolution, or both. It’s a mix of musical genres, art (often done live at the spot), dance classes, and whatever can bring forth something vital and new. A night club that spawns creativity seems crazy but that’s what they probably said about Cabaret Voltaire”...
Derek Santiago is responsible for RAZA's logo and every one of their collectible flyers. His futuristic yet vintage, sexy, organic, "techy" style has brought him work in national ads (Puerto Rican Day Parade for Coor’s). He presently does artwork for “Marvel” and “DC Comics” and recently was featured at the “Soulfrito Art Foundation Exhibition” in Miami where he created 5 pieces in one week.

thank you for looking in our same direction. Last but not least, we thank our ancestors for blessing us with such an enormous amount of pride, creativity and culture. We strive to follow the path you have opened for us and hope to continue to do what you did for us for all the future generations...
About me: Raza NYC is a cultural preservationist collective aiming to honor and preserve old Latin traditions while developing it's new 'remix'. We employ heavy usage of art, music and dance, rooted in Afro Latin club life, sprinkled with world fusion making use of current trends. Our goal is to creatively interrupt peoples’ view of Latin culture, providing a shrine where people can breathe, contribute and revere the arts elevating it’s importance in their lives through our events.

Who I'd like to meet: Raza is a Spanish phrase which, while literally translated as the race, is used as a synonym of "el pueblo" or "la gente", both of which mean "the people". It is used to denote the people of Latin America who share the cultural & political legacies of Spanish colonialism. Often, the term "La Raza" also encompasses a racial significance associated with "mestizaje", or race-mixing. In the 1960s, ethnically-based political movements for civil rights used "La Raza" to distinguish Spanish-speakers & Latin Americans from Anglo- & other white Americans & to break down the national & generational barriers between the various segments of the Latino population.

I am proud to announce the birth of my new T Shirt line "JAZZ-INFLUENCED". It was conceived a couple month ago with idea of representing Jazz and it's influences on world and urban music. As a DJ and music lover, it was always the foundation of every type of genre I ever listened to and appreciated since the age of 12. Collecting old jazz records because it was used in Hip Hop samples or appreciating the jazz instrumentation in Latin, House, AfroBeat & World music. Jazz will always be who I am as a person and these genres will alway be a part of my playlist and what i represent musically. So, because of this inspiration I have for what I love and appreciate, I present to you my new "JAZZ-INFLUENCED" T Shirt.
This shirt can be purchased at www. myspace. com/djmarcelinorivera through Pay Pal. It's only available in black at this time but if it's supported we will provide it in different colors. The sizes run from small to 4XL for $20.
Los Reyes Mago (The Three Kings) There are many different theories and symbolism behind the three kings. One of which is that they were not kings but humble wise men skilled in astronomy. There is no written record as to how many wise men there actually were, only reference to the three different gifts they offered. In Christianity, the number three is often used and is symbolic of the Holy Trinity. In Three Kings lore, the number three also symbolizes the three races of mankind, European, Asian and African. They are also often depicted as an Arab, Asian, and African, and sometimes as three wise men from Persia. The gifts they bore were also symbolic and of double meaning.
Melchior was from Arabia and was the smallest in stature. He brought gold as his offering. Gold is a symbol of kingship symbolizing virtue on earth and in heaven. Balthazar was from the orient and brought frankincense as his offering. Frankincense was used as a perfume and was also a symbol of priest ship symbolizing prayer. Gaspar, the third king, and traditionally the tallest of the Magi, was an African from Ethiopia. He was known as the “Master of the Treasure” and brought the gift of myrrh. Myrrh was commonly used as anointing oil in life, and embalming oil in death. It is a symbol celebrating life and also symbolizes death and suffering.
