ABOUT RAZL:

The truth is that I have no idea how I ended up having this weird instrument in my hands. I guess at some point someone gave me the chance to choose among a toilet brush, an olive can or a guitar and I thought to myself... "hey, the guitar is cool!"

After that, everybodys story, these are the strings, you need to tune it from time to time, these are the amps, these the pedals.

Since my budget didn..t do it to go to Berkeley, I decided to look for cool players, and those characters put me in contact with Rock, Blues or Jazz, and my inseparable Zappa albums. The wisdom of the great guitar player Chema Vílchez, in particular, opened a whole world of possibilities to me.

As all of us, I have played with very weird people, very nice yes, but weird. People that move in such despair styles like progressive rock or hip-hop.

I currently compose and produce music for TV and commercials.

ABOUT ROTONOVA:

Rotonova is the debut Album of the Jazz-Funk guitarist Razl. Intergalactic dangerously addictive grooves, creative guitar melodies over saturated leslie sounds, and zappian environments for weird earthlings.

The album has been recorded with the collaboration of Dean Brown (Marcus Miller, Brecker Brothers, Vital Information, Bill Evans) and Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai, Mullmuzzler) on guitar, Bryan Beller (Steve Vai, Mike Keneally Band) and Damian Erskine (jazz legend Peter Erskine's nephew) on bass and Charlie Dennard (Stanton Moore, Quintology, New World Funk Ensemble) ..boards amongst others. All mastered by the prestigious engineer Michael Fossenkemper of Turttletone Studios, NY (Medeski, Martin & Wood, John Scofield).

Rotonova is not a record for velocipedes... Razl's fingers haven't been in danger at any time, but melodies have been meditated with great evil, since they have an extreme neural penetration capacity.

Razl amuses himself in every note and environment from this ordered chaos, paranoic improvisation in perfect equilibrium. All this makes Rotonova a surprisingly mixture in which each song is a new sound universe molded by each and every one of the great musicians collaborating with Razl.

SOBRE RAZL:

La verdad es que no tengo ni idea de como he acabado teniendo este extraño instrumento entre mis manos. Supongo que en algún momento alguien me dió la posibilidad de escoger entre un cepillo de dientes, una lata de aceitunas o una guitarra, y me dije..."Si, la guitarra mola".

Después de eso, lo de todo el mundo, estas son las cuerdas, tienes que afinarlas de vez en cuando, este es el ampli...estos los pedales.

Como mi presupuesto no daba para mucho, decidí buscar buenos guitarristas que pudieran hacerme profundizar en el instrumento. Y por supuesto, mis inseparables discos de Zappa. La magia del gran guitarrista Chema Vílchez,en particular, me abrió todo un mundo de posibilidades.

Como todos nosotros, he tocado con gente muy rara, buena gente si, pero rara, pasando por estilos que van desde el rock progresivo al hip-hop.

Actualmente trabajo como compositor para TV y publicidad.

Rotonova no es un disco de velocípedos, los dedos de Razl no han corrido peligro en ningún momento, pero las melodías han sido meditadas con gran maldad, ya que tienen una extrema capacidad de penetración neuronal.

Razl se recrea en cada una de las notas y entornos de este pequeño caos ordenado, improvisación paranoide en perfecto equilibrio. Todo esto hace de Rotonova una mezcla sorprendente en la que cada tema es un nuevo universo sonoro moldeado por cada uno de los grandes músicos que colaboran con Razl.
