   About brownout
Rick Brown - drums, electronics, percussion, vocals, clarinet, etc.

Ongoing duos:
a) Two Mule Team with Sue Garner (album Still - Thrill Jockey)
b) Inconvenient Music with Mark Howell

Past activities include: member of the bands Run On (with Sue and Alan Licht), Fish & Roses, Les Batteries (with Guigou Chenevier), and V-Effect.
Various work with Curlew, Tara Key/Antietam, Tortoise, God Is My Co-Pilot, Elliott Sharp and others.

I'm going to use this to post new-ish music, but also some historical documents...
"They Can't Get It" I felt I had to put up because marching in the big Immigration Rights rally on 4/10/06 reminded me of the song's lyrics and I'm proud of it! V-Effect was David Zhonzinsky, Ann Rupel and me (singing and drumming on this song).

"The Real NY" is a song on Timber's album Parts and Labor. Timber was me, Mark Howell and Jenny Wade. Mark and I (inconvenientmusic) are working on a cover version (of ourselves ?!)

Thanks so much for the add! "Stop those Songs" was really important to me in college. If you are still in touch with Miss Ann Rupel please tell her that her bass playing had a huge impact on mine, and we need her unique sound again. Peace.

Hi Rick. I'm now living in Denver (see my profile for details). A guy on ILX was wondering how to get a copy of Tape Number One. (Is that what it's called. Cassette Number One?). Come to think of it, mine got chewed up by my cassette player sometime in the early '90s. (Onlookers might be interested to note that Rick and I played together in one of the bands designated above as "and others.")
