started in about june of 2004 started practicing as a four piece band with idris on vocals arron on guitar and back up lewis on drums and a bloke called callum barnes playing the bass, the band had thier first gig approaching in july of the same year but callum was unable to play so the band started practicing as a 3 piece with idris taking over bass duties and vocals being shared between himself and ron, at the last rehearsal before the show ron brought his good mate kai to practice, kai played guitar and was asked to help out for one song at the show, he decided to learn most of the other songs and get up to play them too and became a member of the band then known as read between the lies after their set ended that day, theyre last gig before going into hiding for almost a year came a few weeks later in the form of idris' dad's birthday party it went well with callum returning on bass and idris on vocals once again but after that day callum either left the band or was kicked out although none of the boys really know why or when all thats known is idris was again on the bass but now ron took on the job of vocals along with occasional rhythm guitar, kai and lewis roles stayed the same throughout, also the name when good dogs do bad things came up when idris was searching for books on an interweb site, he saw a book called when good dogs do bad things about training your dog i believe and thats the 'not as interesting as everyone would have hoped' story about the name, as i said the boyos went into 'hiding' after about august 2004 to write shitloads, concentrate on school work and in the case of kai and lewis pursue other projects but now after almost a year of doing sod all in the way of gigs theyre back(not that anyone noticed or knew they went)and are looking to play anywhere to promote their forthcoming e.p which will be recorded sometime in 2005 and will be titled 'taking care of business'. In july of 2005 Kai decided to leave to pursue other goals so the boys are pleased to welcome 'Rhino' to the band, Ron then decided to play the guitar aswell to back up rhino as he is very fond of playing fills n stuff during verses, this solves the problem of the 2nd guitarist, also the band changed the name back to read between the lies(RBTL)as it seems easier to remember than when good dogs do bad things and is probbaly a better name. On december 3rd 2006 the band played their last show as a 4-piece and recruited singer Alice 'Sally' Rowsell to take on most of the main vocals, she played a couple of shows but couldn't make the final show at Bridgend Rec on February 23rd 2007 due to illness and shortly after the band parted ways.
Here are some reviews
RBTL - RBTL are musical genius's
EL UFO - RBTL were a drunken mess, but it was a good laugh.

Beech tree gig review
What can we say? I would use terrible but it wasn't. It seems it can only be described as a band practice. This was because the bar staff threw out the so called underage people so most of the audience was lost. A terrible shame. Never the less the show still went on with about ten people in the crowd. Including members from other bands.
The first band up was Read Between the lies. They played their usual satifactory set but still good. Along with their most known songs new song and the much loved ninja song they played a cover of Hey Ho, Lets Go which got the crowd moving a bit. They have a new female singer joining them this week so it will be good to hear that extra flare that will be added to the band. Good luck you guys.

So I’ve just uploaded a new tune - it’s called ‘Long Days, Late Nights’ and you can hear it on my page right now!
Having never written and recorded an entire EP all on my own before I was perhaps a little optimistic in thinking it’d be ready for the end of August; it is nearly done, just not quite yet!
The new tune is going to be the last song on the EP - I think it has that kinda melancholy vibe, but I'd love to know your thoughts..
