BORN IN HARLEM 115 St Park Ave (Taft projects) Moved to the West Bronx 1972 ... 225th st.(The Promanade) Marble Hill ,In 1973 turned.GRAFFITI WRITER..tagging MACE,(JASPER)#1,#3LINE... 1976 TURN B-BOY.KNOW AS RHYTHM CHILD..RC...firstly....JOHN SEINO(starr76) gave me the name RC to use////DOC 153( JESSIE BAINES) TOOK ME OUT AND SHOWD ME THE PARTIES AND TOP GRAFFITTI ARTIST**DOC 153 was my best friend and TAG PARTNER from DYKMAN PROJECTS 200 st Manhattan..... IT WAS DOC 153.(Jessie Bains) that showd me the East Bronx and parties.He is the one to direct me to the HIP HOP ELEMENTS...and I grew into to my own after that period and we went separate ways.... JESSIE BAINS aka DOC 153 and JOHN SEINO aka STARR76 Ill never forget them.. I was 13....without knowing they gave me direction.......1976 t0 1977 was so instrumental in my development as an emce....for that matter for HIP HOP... BETWEEN 76-77 WAS WHEN THE FIVE CORNERS OF THE EMCEE WORLD was form* HARLEM./SOUTH BRONX/WEST BRONX/EAST BRONX/NORTH BRONX...............THE LaROCK PART OF MY NAME CAME FROM DJ KOOL HERCs*MC-COKE LAROCK.1st street emcee................. RCLaROCK HIP HOP PIONEER.began writting rhymes and practicing heavily in 1976 in secret all in the mirror perfecting my styles and voice tones and veins would pop out of my head because would "flow" for hours My mother would crack up laughing because I was so serious at 13 years old..THEN in 1977 I teamed up with my crew..THE ORIGINAL COLD CRUSHERS....we rocked parties at THE PROMANADE west 225thst basement center where we lived ////////Then summer of 1978 we took over "C E D A R P A R K"..blk/red basketball courts Hip Hops 1st jam park After Founding Father DJ KOOL HERC left it up for grabs//in 1978-1980 it was THE COLD CRUSHERS.....(not Brothers...we came before they formed) RCLaROCK on the mic.. dj MR DEE (DEREK MILLER)1ST TO PUT TURNTABLES SIDEWAYS (battle style)sideways .....DJ CHARLIE "whiz" ROCK AND SOUND MAN DJ DARRIN 1ST put a"SHURE" MIC on a stand in the parks..WE WERE ONLY 14, 15 and 16 YRS OLD making moves..mc RCLaROCK was known for hour long delivery of witty/ story telling. brag rhymes and catchy phrases..."TO THE BREAKA DAWN" coined by rclarock 1977..and it spread like wild fire..world wide....RCLaROCK also labled his style as "F L O W I N G" way back in 1977 a HipHop term used today to describe rhyming steadily..or "SPITTING" I called my style F L O W I N G because in 1977 rhyming wasnt ON THE BEAT it was"TO THE BEAT CHA'LL" and because I went ON ON ON ON TO THE BREAKA DAWN almost without a breath,standing in a B-boy stance goin for an hour was easy and regular when you heard RC.. .Rhyming then 1977' was like radio jock style...HANK SPAN (WWRL) Also WOLFMAN JACK.. IT WAS ORIGINAL DJ HOLLYWOOD THAT PUT RHYMING ON THE BEAT....you also had BUSY BEE*LOVE BUG*MELE MEL*CAZ>>SPOONIE GEE...KID CREOLE..(my favorite). key EMCEES that created mc styles for many to follow..we were the innovators of the EMCEE...the story has never been told...
What separated RC from the pack I WAS THE FIRST MOBILE MC on my bike everywhere that was my rep.I would go from park to park party to party through out Harlem and the west Bronx..I was the 1st to spellout rhymes. the 1st to studder rhymes.the 1st to prophesies on the mic. the 1st metaphoric mc.the 1st to flow for so long on a record 9 minutes straight (THE MIC-STRO)1979// listen The 1st mc to freestyle live on the radio...92ktu. JOSE GUZMAN came to my high school 1979.//Spoonie G went the same year. shout out to the other forgotten emcees. from the WEST BRONX AND HARLEM... I WILL LIST THEN LATER..
