BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Before the Berlin Wall fell, there was dance music that was free and full of unchained joy. Men and women loved the sweet songs that machines made. They danced and made love to the songs of those machines. That spirit lives on through the music of RCMP.

RCMP is the creation of DJ Apt One and Relative Q. They make dance music for those who yearn to be unpretentious and animalistic creatures of the discothèque.

DJ Apt One, Philadelphia DJ and member of the nationally renowned DJ team Philadelphyinz, joined with Pittsburgh's Relative Q in the Spring of 2008 to assemble several remixes. Ultimately, the two saw a mutual understanding of the visceral power of the musical bond between Cold War Europeans and their robot slaves. They decided to bring the spirit of italo, boogie and Hi-NRG sounds into the modern era.

Studio experimentation led them to record Mustache Love, a track which brought a symphony of synths, conga players and strings to bear in a classic, but forward-thinking compositional style. Soon, the sound infiltrated some of the most influential discothèques in the world. Babies were conceived to this song.

Their collaboration produced the body of work that is now known as the RCMP EP, which DJ Ayres (The Rub / T&A Records) calls “The best nu-disco record since Holy Ghost!” Notable for its sophistication (Mustache Love), its cathartic emotional content (Ibiza, PA), its soaring grandiosity (The Bird AKA Ignition) and its brain-melting infectiousness (USA Groove), RCMP has been leaving dance floors aglow in pheremones, sweat and love. Epic remixes from New York’s Pumpkin Patch and Cousin Cole fill out the record.

Influential DJs took to the record, with Glasgow’s Optimo, LA’s Mike B, Brooklyn’s The Rub and more running the record. The record made the Loot summer holiday chart at UK’s Juno Records and RCMP took to the airwaves doing a mix and interviews for Scion Radio.

After the smash success of 2009's self-titled EP. 2010 saw the Mustache Love EP burn up the charts on Beatport, Juno and Turntable Lab. Now the boys are at it again with a single version of "USA Groove," the self-titled EP's deepest, after-hours sex groove..
