Our new supporters and the remaining people who have believed in this company from day one and are still believers to this day; and without Lesa or Robin of Lesa's DanceSations, RDC would not exsist! RDC's MISSION: Resurrection Dance Company (RDC) is founded and directed by Wenda Lynn-Koon in 2005. RDC has a wide array of dance - ballet, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, absract, and elements of modern and African; as well other genres. We are intersted in remebering artists who have left an impact in the world. Artists such as Michael Hutchence of INXS, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Layne Staley of Alice In Chains hold important value to RDC. Our choreography, music selection, and shows reflect the inportance of their exsistance, and for them to live on.
Also, RDC's portion of the mission revolves around the AIDS epidemic in Africa, as well as starvation, poverty, and disease. RDC became immensed in the campaign's ONE and Make Poverty History, and the Artistic Director is a strong suporter of both causes. While the mission is split into two different areas, the company aspires to inform the public, serving humanity, and remembering great people as well.
By everyone putting selflessness out in front, we can save many people who do not have the luxery we as Americans do. Be a humantarian, not a mediocure person.
Who I'd like to meet: THE LAYNE STALEY FOUNDATION:
Alice In Chains' frontman left behind a legacy of music. RDC's repertiore includes the songs, Man In The Box, Rooster, and Down In a Hole. The remaining band members refused to play the music out of respect for Layne, until 2005, when the fans were requesting a reunion.

On April 19, 2002, an unidentified person placed a call with 911 to say "She hadn't heard from…[Staley] in about two weeks."[18] Staley was found dead in his home after "his mother and stepfather went to his condo with the police". [19] As reported by Rick Anderson of the Seattle Weekly, his body was surrounded by various drug possessions and paraphernalia: "When police kicked in the door to Layne Staley's University District apartment on April 20, there, on a couch, lit by a flickering TV, next to several spray-paint cans on the floor, not far from a small stash of cocaine, near two crack pipes on the coffee table, reposed the remains of the rock musician." The article also stated that the 6'1" Staley weighed 86 pounds when his body was discovered.[20] The autopsy report later concluded that Staley died after injecting a mixture of heroin and cocaine known as a "speedball".
The King County Coroner's Office estimated Staley to have died on April 5th, 2002.
This memorial is to honour his memory through dance, song, writing, or just speaking from the heart.
