REACH are emerging as one of South Africa’s up & coming rock acts. The band comprises of seasoned musicians who found their musical feet in both legendary international and local bands such as THE USED (Greg Bester), SHIFTY and F…etc (Basil Byrne, Marc Wainstein, Dave Smith). The album was recorded and mixed at Shifted Audio and is a shining example of the talent that is coming out of South Africa both on the performance and production side.
Their songwriting and sound can be likened with the phenomenal JIMMY EAT WORLD, with an emotive rollercoaster of personal and hearfelt lyrics, coupled with the catchy riffs and complex drumming which defines this genre. They also show their range and understanding of their genre with an outstanding acoustic track completing the soundscape.
"“Fire and Grace is the debut album of this up-and-coming, highly talented South African band. Their first single, So Long (Goodbye), is doing well on local radio stations. Emotional lyrics and brilliant drumming ensure the album doesn’t disappoint. It will put Reach on the map as one of the most gifted bands in the country right now” - YOU MAGAZINE!
“Local boy and frontman Greg Bester jammed guitar and vocals, co-wrote, recorded, produced and then mixed this top hard-rock album! It’s no one-man band though. Fire and Grace is kick ass awesomeness that smacks emo right in the chops, without crossing into punk or diving into the realm of eye-bleeding metal” – FHM!
"Passionately created and masterfully crafted, Reach's debut album takes you on an unexpected journey. Serene and relaxing at one moment, riveting and awakening the next, but continously exciting and captivating throughout." – Purity Magazine!!
“… the CD let’s us experience all aspects of Reach and long time fans, like me, will adore it” – ROCKFINDER MAGAZINE!!

Hey Marc, no problem :) Oh nice, I'll read up on St Johan then!! I'll be going to Steyr and Vienna in Austria, Frankfurt andf Nuremberg in Germany and Budapest in Hungary. There'll also be other small towns that we'll be visiting but that's a good idea haha. Oh wow, we just missed each other in Hungary haha. I'm big on history and sites and all of that so it's the place to be for me. Haha the women will be a nice sight for sure! Can't wait man.
Keep in touch with Reach and your other band ;) I'll take many pics of the trip, will let you know when the pics are posted.
Nice to hear from you! I'm good man, heading to Europe in a week and a half so busy with that. I'll be going to Germany, Austria, and Hungary so good times ahead! Nice have the album in my car's stereo quite a bit hehe, a must for me :) I added that side project of yours and looking forward to some interesting songs from you two guys. I'm open to a lot of music and coming from you guys it has to be good. Cheers buddy.

I've been planning on going to Season's for soooo long, so I wouldn't have a problem with taking pics... however my boss told me today I may have to work, which is a real bummer! I'm trying my hardest to get out of it... haha!
But, I'm studying photography, so if I don't happen to catch you guys at Seasons, I'm sure we could arrange some other time?
Doesn't necessarily have to be live, it could be anywhere really :] lol.
