   About Reach The Sky
Reach the Sky, one of the most compelling and diverse bands to come out of Boston, MA in recent years, had resurfaced with their sophomore effort, "Friends Lies and the End of the World." Constantly taking their music to new hights, Reach the Sky have created an album that will be remembered for years to come. As an incessantly touring band they have established themselves in the independent music scene as one of the most cutting edge bands of this decade.

Reach the Sky found a way to rise above the sometimes stagnating worlds of punk and hardcore by combining the best of both worlds with a feverish pitch, sweeping melodies, and unforgettable choruses. They create a natural progression from the raw unbridled energy of hardcore; to the pulse of power pop punk and the hook of straightforward rock.

Reach the Skys debut CD, "So Far From Home" became a building block for a darker, more mature sound on "Friends, Lies and the End of the World." The band has progressed immensely since their Victory debut. Their transition can be attributed mainly to their never-ending perseverance that has taken them to the next level.

With a touring schedule that would crush most other artists, Reach the Sky toured in support of bands such as; Dropkick Murphys, Misfits, 7 Seconds, and have been a featured act on Bostons Warped Tour two years running. Through these tours they have won over a wide variety of loyal fans.

Undeniably Reach the Sky was a mixture of emotionally driven hardcore, and punk. They thrived on that raw feeling to create a blistering, yet altogether appealing sound of their own. Never staying safely within the confines of what a hardcore band can and can not do, the emotionally charged and infectious songs of "Friends, Lies, and the End of the World" are an unadulterated extension of the power, importance, and purity of the hardcore and punk world.

Bob Mahoney went on to join the band BANE.
Ian Larrabee went on to start the band STAND ACCUSED.
Brendan Maguire went on to tour manage bands such as SICK OF IT ALL and DROPKICK MURPHYS.

I just found out about the Chicago thing. Like always, Rochester always gets news late. That and I'm a little bit more into THC than I used to be. I'm still stoked though.

i got into hardcore by stealing my brothers records when i was like 12- they were: snapcase, reach the sky, strife, the dedication, boy sets fire and so on. but anyways, reach the skys albums were and still reign as my favorite.
