Your support is truly appreciated.

It is truly a blessing to have the spirit of giving in your hear and on your soul.

This year has seen progress and we are grateful to those who have supported our efforts to give the gift of literacy to a wanting child, a school in need, and communities desiring upliftment & change.

Our national activities included the "Read Across America" day celebration staged at two local restaurants in the Caribbean-American community.

Who I'd like to meet:

Over the past three years, I have come to understand that people foreign to a country cannot fully understand the depth that education systems play in the continued saga of the underprivileged. However, today we can support children anywhere and everywhere in the world by sharing our talents to help improve circumstances.

As long as children lack in the ability to read, we are accountable for the destruction of future generations and a lost heritage. Jamaica's passage is still a very significant gateway to the Americas and offers so many vacationers solice from their current personal demands.

How can we truly give back? *** D O N A T E ***

Participate in the Read Across Jamaica Literacy Project and get a taste of the flavors this experience offers as you share in the presentation of books and literary works with the children of Jamaica. ..

The Read Across Jamaica Literacy Project's purpose is to bless children by encouraging them to learn to read. I invite you to be apart of helping to increase access to childrens books as we set out to help re-build school libraries.

.. The Read Across Jamaica Literacy Project is looking for volunteers who are willing to give unselfishly of their time to future generations of children while serving as role models of purpose, peace, & love.

You can get involved as a "..Literacy Ambassador.." in three different ways:

1. Volunteer to participate on our journey to Jamaica.

  • January MLK Weekend, 2009 or
  • March (Spring Break), 2009 or
  • May 8-16, 2009 (tentatively).
  • 2. Sponsor a school through a community or corporate partnership.
With your support, you can help us to ship barrels of donated materials, provide company incentives (giveaways) or supply nutritous snacks to encourage children to learn to read.
