Who I'd like to meet:
* readergirlz is about girls having
SERIOUS FUN while talking about books with the author and their friends!
* readergirlz is about giving teen girls the
INSIDE SCOOP about why the novel was written-the tears and joys and real-world angst that the author has lived and layered into her story.
* readergirlz is about getting teen girls to read great books so they get to
KNOW THEMSELVES, their friends, and yes, even their mother, better.
* readergirlz is about
CELEBRATING STRONG GIRLS in books who've got the guts to dream.
* And most of all, readergirlz is about
INSPIRING GIRLS to make history of their own!

1. I should give myself the same care and attention as I give others.
2. I am not an endless ‘resource’ for others, I must stock up on ‘reserves’ and not get too drained.
3. I have needs to which may be different from my family’s, my friends or my colleagues.
4. I do not have to say ‘yes’ to all requests – or feel guilty if I say ‘no’.
5, The ‘perfect’ parent, partner, child or career person does not exist – the ‘good-enough’ one does!
6. I have the right to be treated with respect as a worthwhile, intelligent and competent person.
7. I do not have to have everyone’s approval all the time to know that I am trying my hardest.
8. Time for unwinding is time very well spent.
9. Making mistakes is not a disaster – I can learn from these and it allows others to as well.
10. I must be fair to myself and remember, at all times especially in the face of criticism, anxiety and difficulties,
THAT I AM DOING THE BEST THAT I CAN!!

You have surely heard about the tragic death of a
brave young woman who was murdered in Iran
just for peacefully protesting with her father
on the streets of Teheran.
Her Name was Neda - please remember her.
CNN: "Neda" becomes rallying cry for Iranian protests (click here to read)
Please re-post if you care.

The best things in life don’t come fast or free,
But sometimes my impatience makes me cheat.
Though I know I’m wrong, trying to rush things along,
I get mad when outcomes are incomplete.
The purpose I serve is much more than my own,
And Nature’s clock ticks much slower than mine.
I can gripe and pout or just wait the thing out,
For the Most High works on It’s own time.
I can have love, prosperity, and peace
And all the things that make it joyful to live.
Sometimes money can’t pay for those treasures—
Only my patience and willingness to give.
We are all farmers of the crops of our destiny,
Semi-conscious of the psychological seeds we sow.
So to yield the best return, we must learn
To give things time and let them grow.
