yes, foxhunting should now be illegal. chasing a wild animal with a pack of hounds is illegal. there is a solid law in place, passed by parliament.
however, laws need enforcing, and the police are NOT interested.
before the change in law, when we peacefully sabotaged a hunt, the police couldn't get there quick enough. police helicopters, 4x4 vehicles, squad cars, motorbikes and even horses. these days, when the bloodsports lobby is acting illegally the cops suddenly have 'no resources' and 'policing hunts is not a priority'. no surprise there.
so we lend the police a hand. we kit ourselves out with video cameras and get out in the field, to gather evidence that we pass to the 'law enforcers' so they can do their job.
