Read It Now is a Hudson Valley based independent publication, conceived by editor Franny Olsen, written for and by you-- the populace. Our zine features articles contributed by insightful and talented individuals, covering a variety of topics:
The Local Music Scene
We have a pretty hefty bands section. We will write an article on you, publish your pictures and show dates, post flyers from your booking company, and so on and so forth. If you are interested in being featured, send an email to bands@readitnowzine.com, and we'll let you know what info we need from you. So far we've featured a ton of bands from the area and a couple of national heavy hitters (look forward to an interview with Cursive in the next issue).
Reviews
We review cd's, movies, restaurants, concerts etc. We've published reviews of some of last year's most breakthrough albums, by both local and national artists. If you would like your album reviewed send it to editor@readitnowzine.com.
Entertainment/Culture
Let us know what you like to do, so others can get in on it. Tell us about your sweet independent store, farm, booking company, label, distro, competing zine, comic book, litmag, or even just an idea. We will come and cover it!
Pressing Issues
What concerns you as a local resident, or as an individual? We've had some really insightful contributions on a number of issues including contemporary media, birth control, food content, and local cost of living. If you feel strongly about something, or have an issue you'd like to examine, send your article ideas to editor@readitnowzine.com
