Ukuleles for a Cause - The Penguin’s 4th Annual autographed ukulele charity raffle. This year's raffle will benefit Paco Strickland, host of Flamenco Café. Paco is battling Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood cancer. From November 13 through December 23, raffle tickets will be available for sale in Wilmington at Sea-Comm Media (The Penguin office, 122 Cinema Drive..., 910-772-63...31); Gravity Records (125 S. Kerr Avenue; 910-392-2414); and Deluxe (114 Market Street, 910-251-0333). They are available online at www.1067thepenguin.com and at www.alohau.com. For a tax-deductible donation of $10 per raffle ticket your name will be entered to win one of ten brightly painted wood ukuleles signed by legends and up-and-coming artists. The decorative ukes are autographed by these artists: Drive-By Truckers (red); Michael Franti (yellow); Band Of Horses (white); Widespread Panic & The Allman Brothers Band (orange); Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (blue); Tift Merritt (green); Robert Randolph & The Family Band (red); Todd Snider (brown); Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead (blue); and Jason Mraz (purple).
We can add J.J. Grey to my list, and hopefully Robert Randolph next week. Hope things are going your way. Looking forward to my 36th DMB show this week!

Hey Jeff, I knew about my photo of Paco and Tamara going on page 22, but was surprised to find my work also on pages 3 & 14. For you to include me with the likes of Brownie Harris and Erin Whittle... I am honored. Thanks so much! Satu
