Influences
AIM knock out songs by various artists and from various genres, some of which include - Hendrix, Thin Lizzy, Rolling Stones, Clapton, Guns 'n' Roses etc
AIM are a high energy R&B (That's Rhythm/Rock & Blues) covers band from Surrey. Formed in the early days of 2005, AIM have built a reputation as a quality band with an ever growing following of loyal fans.
ATTENTION AIM FANS
We are now back out amongst you all again. NEW SONGS ALERT!
Those of you who were at the Royal Oak in Passfield on Feb 2nd will have had a little taste of what is to come but there is more exciting stuff that will be ready very soon.
We have also been considering a slight re-working of an old favourite but it is currently a top secret project and if we told you now, we'd have to kill you!
Check the Gig Guide and the website www.ready-aim-rock.co.uk to keep up to date with what's happening.
The story so far...
After meeting at a jam night, Graham, Nick and Trevor embarked a journey to create the most popular, and hardest working band in the business. Having failed miserably, they recruited the help of Edd, Richard and Roger.
It was only then after deciding that they didn't want to play the same ol' crap as every other band, that they began to explore the musical taste of all six musicians to create an ecclectic and entertaining repertoire, to set them apart from the rest.
Since then AIM have regularly toured Surrey and Hampshire gigging in pubs, high-streets, Beer gardens and Fields full of intoxicated Hockey players, as well as being privellaged to be invited to play Guilfest '06. The gospel of AIM, it seems, has also spread to Europe, and consequently they were asked to play "Bratronsky dzban" a yearly music event in Prague, where they didn't fail to impress, getting invited back the next year by the town's Mayor.
The incredible Roger finally had to move on to other things, he is apparently living with Tibetan monks in a remote Himalayan mountain retreat whilst developing his own unique style of guitar-playing into a deadly martial art. It is said that reported sightings of him in the audience at recent AIM gigs are down to his having learned the ancient art of instantaneous transportation of body and mind through space and time, just so he can pop in and see his old mates now and again!
Everyone in AIM wishes Roger the best of luck for the future
His replacement, Sinclair, has proved to be a fantastic find for AIM and the band have managed to complete the traditionally difficult process of personnel change without breaking step, a testament to Sinclair's ability more than anything else, Welcome to the band Sin!
Currently AIM are booking up gigs for the coming months, and while not practising the old favourites, they are slowly working on more diverse and challenging material, in order to keep the set fresh and satisfy an ever growing audience.
Thanks so much for the support, I'm only sorry I couldn't stay to see you guys play as I had GCSE English coursework to get finished and I've got two Science exams today so had to get my revision done!!
