Sal singing the National Anthem at the NY Jets Game on August 17, 2007
The Band:
Ready In 10 might have snagged its name from a Chinese Restaurant menu promising quick delivery, but this Long Island-based group does not take its music lightly. Only six months after forming in January 2005, Ready In 10 was already opening up for a sold-out Rusted Root performance. The group’s diligence didn’t halt there, releasing its debut album, Face the World, to their own sold-out audience at LiveTrax in Bellmore, NY on August 5, 2006.
The sounds exhibited on Face the World reach seamlessly from blues to rock to ballad to pop, an attribute that has brought about comparisons with such top 40 icons as Matchbox 20, Bon Jovi, and Maroon 5. Lyrically, the quartet draws from its environment: there is always a story to be told in actual events occurring in daily life.
Since the release of Face the World, Ready In 10 has been playing shows throughout New York and into Boston and New Jersey. They had the opportunity to open for Long Island’s own Nine Days only weeks after lead vocalist Sal Nastasi sang the National Anthem at a New York Jets Game at Giants Stadium on September 1, 2006. With all this great success in 2006, the icing on the cake came when their song Green Eyed Girl was used in an online Sony/ Ericsson advertisement for a new cell phone (W810). 2007 has been nothing short of complete excitement for this foursome as they have made there way from bars, to clubs, to some of the biggest venues in New York, including the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (Wantagh, NY) where they have 5 opening slots scheduled throughout the summer (Fallout Boy, The Fray, The Goo Goo Dolls, Poison and Incubus).
Ready In 10 is Sal Nastasi (lead vocals, guitar); Marc Viola (lead guitar, vocals); Mike Elefante (bass); and Ray Ray(drums. percussion). Never the type to let time pass without progress, Ready In 10 has just released their first music video, and is already working on a follow-up album.
