Fire Performing! It's my obsession, outlet and joy! It's my source for creating, physical activity, challenge, inspiration, traveling and meeting new people!
I am a creative jack-of-many-trades who enjoys acquiring new skills whenever they present themselves, especially when they contribute to any aspect of fire performance.
Photography modeling, art modeling.
FX Make-up, airbrushing. Worked on the makeup crew of one of the best haunted houses in the US (www.rockypointhauntedhouse.com) for 6 seasons.
Wearables arts such as sewing, assembling non-textile materials into costumes, chainmaille and wire wrapped jewelry.
Studied Japanese for 2 1/2yrs. Though I've forgotten a bit of what I learned, I still have the basics down.
Music
Anything that's fun to dance or perform to. Music that transports the listener to another state of emotion.
Movies
Fantasy, action, drama, comedy, thrillers, movies that make my head hurt. Any movies that are visually enthralling.
Television
For the most part, TV only makes me regret the time I spent watching it.
Books
I'm addicted to audiobooks. Fiction mostly, with some "how to's" and classics for variety.
Heroes
Um, I don't have any specific names, just people who are able to maintain dedication, focus and patience enough to achieve their goals even if it's a small accomplishement such as cleaning out their car.
About me: "When this goddess steps into a space, with fire balls orbiting her form like blurry mandala circles inscribing spells and runes in the night air, bedecked in her amazon finery, with her gallant partner spinning flaming batons at her side, any onlooker finds themselves transfixed by her beauty, humbled by her talent, and charmed by her smile. That is merely the beginning....."
I've been a fire dancer for 5yrs and am the Director of Salt Lake's first organized and insured fire arts entertainment group, Incendiary Circus (www.icfire.org, http://tribes.tribe.net/incendiarycircus). Comprising of an amazing community of dedicated and talented individuals, there's a wide variety of skills and flavors of performance to see!
My focus in performance is to present a blend of dance, personality, crowd-interaction and skill. To me, it's not all about the fire, it's about how you play with it...
FIRE SKILLS: Poi, Staff, Fingers, Sword, Eating, Fleshing, and Breathing. I also perform on Jumping Stilts of which are great for daytime performance and for adding a new facet of interest to fire performance.
On a personal level, I'm a person who strives to inspire others and who lives to be inspired! My names of alter ego are Reala, Succubus of the Desert and SpicyHeart. My goal in life: Giving it my damnedest to get out and experience new things whenever humanly possible.
..
Who I'd like to meet:
Those who love fire!
Fellow performers, fans, friends, people I've met while performing, people who need fire performers! Creative collaborators!*
I haven't been around much, so just wanted to impart some well wishes and let you know I haven't forgotten about you my friend. ~ ~ Be Well and Keep Burning~ ~ BurningRaven ~ Burningraven. com

Happy, Happy Birthday, Jodie! I hope you have a wonderful and joyful day, and if a cake finds its way to you this year may it have huge flaming candles on it! :)
Thx for a superb Sundance... you truly rocked the house, and it was worth every bit of tough provoking I had in me... I do expect you to join all the snow bunnies at our chalet much more than all those wee hours next year.
