As diversas influências musicais vindas de cada um dos integrantes refletem diretamente na forma da banda fazer música. Misturando bossa-nova, samba, maracatu, fandango e outros ritmos brasileiros, com a forte influência jamaicana do dub, do ragga e do reggae, somados às rimas e versos de protesto e reflexão do rap e hip-hop, foi criado um estilo definido como S.O.M. , sigla que significa Samba Ombrófilo Misto.
A Ombrófila Mista é a classe científica das florestas de Araucárias - árvores tradicionais no Paraná. A idéia de batizar toda essa mistura como S.O.M., o “som das araucárias”, surgiu em referência a essa planta tão comum aos olhos de quem visita Curitiba e outras regiões do estado.
Apesar da maioria dos músicos terem vindo de outros lugares, o encontro deles se deu em Curitiba, onde todos residem há alguns anos. Por isso esse estilo é considerado genuinamente curitibano e ombrófilo por natureza.
Real Coletivo Dub started in 2005 by an invitation of David Pimentel (Video maker-Resistência Filmes) to compose the original soundtrack of the film "Sobbreviver" (a documentary about Bodyboard which went through the main Brazilian' States and some countries abroad). Rodrigo, Álvaro and André-Zacempre, Rogê and Thiagão-Grande Roda de Tambores, Eugênio Fim-Regra 4. They all gathered and started working on the project.
After all, the soundtrack produced by Eugênio Fim was a big success, so the project became a band. Two musicians were invited to be part of the band, Cassiano Zambonin, bass and guitar and Felipe Boquinha, drummer.
This big meeting allowed the group to work on experiments mixing Brazilian rhythms like Maracatu, Samba and Bossa Nova, with Jamaican rhythms like Ragga, Reggae and Dub.
The band brings strong lyrics and percussion as well as smooth and very well defined guitar and bass lines. They had their first presentation on stage in a gig with Black Alien and B Negão from Rio de Janeiro. This gig promoted the release of "Sobbreviver" the documentary in Curitiba with the official presence of DJ Jeff Bass.
One week later Real Coletivo Dub played with Mundo Livre S.A. a band from Recife, after that played with Bonsucesso Samba Clube and Banda Eddie both also from Recife and with Obeyjah from the United Sates. The latest band's big presentation was playing before O Rappa at Pedreira Paulo Leminski in Curitiba. Real has finished recording their cd which brings Xandão Menezes (O Rappa's guitar player) as a producer.

It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them.
