You want credentials within a nostalgia free zone? You want to escape from the drudgery of too many bands pedalling the same old formula? Then my friend you should really check out Dirty Protest,(UK Punk) You think of the best bits of Minor Threat, Black Flag and Bad Brains thrown into a blender and poured into the vat of modern day hardcore. You think of a vocalist who can match Ian McKaye, Dez Cadena and HR on any given day and you get the Always skint Jonny No -Cash. You think of guitar maestro's with hooks and rifftasticness reminiscent of a bastard son of Gregg Ginn and Dr. Know, and you get Rocket Ronney and Daemonic Dan. You think of the tightest rhythm section this side of a pair of stretch jeans and you have Wild Bill Hiccup Tubthumper and Fingers Like Iron Bolam keeping the whole shebang together in a nonchalant manner.
Dirty Protest have that something that will blow you away, four individuals functioning on stage like a well tuned V8 turbo charged, straight through exhaust, drag racing engine! They pay tribute to their forefathers within that seminal period of US hardcore and give you the updated version. They will out drink, out drug and out fuck any of the great pretenders- Dirty Protest, as the name rightly suggests, are full on committed loveable rogues who will rock your night. You seek them out or you are a fool!!
