Bio
.. ..Johannes Schaedlich has been not only working as a sideman with an enormous amount of musicians all over the world but also has been continuously set up new bands and projects - entitled REAL JAZZ (by adding the actual line-up - mostly a trio or quartet) under his leadership, celebrating at the present time a collaboration with french pianist Jean-Yves Jung and german drummer Jens Biehl... ..Since Johannes Schaedlich is striving for the attainment of an enviable balance of commercial and artistic success, he arrived at a point in his career where he ventures into every new jazz project motivated purely by the desire to expand the boundaries of his creativity within the interaction of fellow musicians... ..So here is „RJT“ with pianist Jean-Yves Jung and Jens Biehl on drums. We work in this line-up together since summer 2008... Right from the first few bars, it felt like something important going on. It was all there, you know, just happening. A group like is not often found even in a long musicians existence... The trio´s music/repertoire steadily becomes shaped and renewed - often in unexpected ways... We - just for an example - have broken away from the idea to work on original compositions exclusively. So periodically the list of our tunes contains more standards tunes than originals. Of course we also realize, that a majority in the audience and among organizers of jazz concerts is more or less expecting a repertoire of original compositions rather than standard songs from a „contemporary modern jazz“ trio - according to the spirit of the present time within Germany, at least. We prefer to free ourselves of obstructive expactations like those in order to find ways and to constantly be free to experiment. Sometimes we concentrate on rehearsing our own original compositions, at other times on „jamming tunes“ - pretty often taking tunes into other than usual keys and/or meters in order to leave the beaten tracks. A version of, let´s say, Herbie Hancock´s „Dolphin Dance“ can sound amazingly fresh and new in a different key and in 3/4. Which does not mean, that a version like that necessarily find it´s way onto the list of tunes we perform with. Another example for experiments: through a certain period we used a Fender Rhodes piano on rehearsals instead of an acoustic piano to level out the changes within the sound of the band. Well, whatever is been played - almost everything achieves the character of the interplay, which we had right away from the start; based on freedom of musical expressivity resolving in a common language... ..Recently the trio is also working periodically with brazilian vocalist Juliana da Silva... The project is entitled "Juliana da Silva & RJT"; some work is also documented on a myspace site: ..www.myspace.com/rjtundjulianadasilva..... Other projects with different guest soloists are "on the list" also... ..News will be updated here or/and on home page - ..www.johannesschaedlich.de/real_jazz_trio.html.... ..History: „RJT“ had been formed - initially with drummer Oliver Strauch - already in around 1998. Unfortunately the trio´s work could be continued merely periodically, due to circumstances like Jean-Yves Jung´s staying in the U.S. for some years... After his return to Europe the trio took up working again in 2007/08 with drummer Jens Biehl, with whom Johannes Schaedlich had meanwhile been working together a lot in various bands... -

..Johannes Schaedlich has been not only working as a sideman with an enormous amount of musicians all over the world but also has been continuously set up new bands and projects - entitled REAL JAZZ (by adding the actual line-up - mostly a trio or quartet) under his leadership, celebrating at the present time a collaboration with french pianist Jean-Yves Jung and german drummer Jens Biehl.
Since Johannes Schaedlich is striving for the attainment of an enviable balance of commercial and artistic success, he arrived at a point in his career where he ventures into every new jazz project motivated purely by the desire to expand the boundaries of his creativity within the interaction of fellow musicians.
So here is „RJT“ with pianist Jean-Yves Jung and Jens Biehl on drums. We work in this line-up together since summer 2008.
Right from the first few bars, it felt like something important going on. It was all there, you know, just happening. A group like is not often found even in a long musicians existence.
The trio´s music/repertoire steadily becomes shaped and renewed - often in unexpected ways.
Well, whatever is been played - almost everything achieves the character of the interplay, which we had right away from the start; based on freedom of musical expressivity resolving in a common language.
Recently the trio is also working periodically with brazilian vocalist Juliana da Silva.
The project is entitled "Juliana da Silva & RJT"; some work is also documented on a myspace site: www.myspace.com/rjtundjulianadasilva.
Other projects with different guest soloists are "on the list" also.
News will be updated here or/and on home page - www.johannesschaedlich.de/real_jazz_trio.html
History: „RJT“ had been formed - initially with drummer Oliver Strauch - already in around 1998. Unfortunately the trio´s work could be continued merely periodically, due to circumstances like Jean-Yves Jung´s staying in the U.S. for some years.
After his return to Europe the trio took up working again in 2007/08 with drummer Jens Biehl, with whom Johannes Schaedlich had meanwhile been working together a lot in various bands.
