In San Francisco, The Elsewhere Public Works Agency broadcasts an amazing program from Dolores Park.
They have a connection with The Jejune Institute on California St. which, if you visit, you might regard it as one of the best experiences you've ever had in San Francisco.
This is the first time I've been impressed by radio since first hearing Joe Frank.
Joe....Isn't it strange, though it shouldn't be...that we sometimes have little or no contact with those who think like we do...? Life, held on hold, by circumstance.
Who hasn’t thought, “Take me with you,” hearing the wind go by? And finding himself left behind, resumed his own true version of time on earth, a seed fallen here to die and be born a thing promised in the one dream every cell of him has dreamed headlong since infancy, every common minute has served. Born twice, he has two mothers, one who dies, and one the mortar in which he’s tried. His double nature cleaves his eye, splits his voice. So if you hear him say, while he sits at the bed of one mother, “Take me home,” listen closer. To life, he says, “Keep me at heart. ”
Hey Joe, have you read any of Michel Houellebecq's works? I've just finished "The Possibility of an Island", and I must say the work is sublime. "The Elementary Particles" is also a terrific read. His work reminds me of your show. I'm a great admirer of yours, to say the least and have been following your work since the late nineties. Any chance of you publishing another collection of short stories? All the best, Steve
Your work is amazing. honored to be your friend on this silly site. my sunday nights in Brooklyn will always include your show. Thanks and I hope you are feeling well
My son, three (3) of my all-time faaaaaavorite episodes of yours, thus far, are 1.) the one wherein you open a can of serious whup-ass on some detractor in the Armed Forces back in Nam, 2.) the Spiritualist who taunts people over the phone, making it impossible to repeat the healing prayers he espouses, and 3.) the reason Joseph exhibits less than paternal sentiment towards Gee-suss!
I'm a recent inductee, Joe, into your ever-burgeoning audience. Bravo! You are to be lauded w/t highest kudos afforded any great artist. Peace out.
joe frank is one of those great discoveries you make one lonely dark night when you happen upon this voice piercing the static...after 5 min. you want to call a friend to share it with but decide to keep it to yourself like the second voice in your head...thanks joe!
Hi Joe, Thanks so much for the add. I was informed through the grapevine that you might be performing in L.A. sometime soon , you gotta let us know where...later
