Real Life formed in Melbourne Australia during the early eighties. After working six nights a week, building a local following for a couple of years, we released our first record Send me an Angel, from our first album Heartland.
The song was a big hit in most parts of the world. Other singles from that Album were Openhearted, Catch me I'm Falling and Always.
Our second album Flame, didn’t do so well however, the first single Face to Face was a minor hit.
Four years after it was recorded, we had a second hit single from that album, with a re-mix of Let's Fall in Love.
In 1986 we scored a U.S. alternative hit with a song called Babies. Our Australian record company refused to release the song in Australia.
In 1989 Send Me an Angel was a US hit for a second time.
In 1990 we released an album called Lifetime featuring the alternative radio and dance chart hits God Tonight and Kiss The Ground.
Okay so some time in the mid 90's our current keyboard player Mr George Pappas aka the Reverend Peabody arrived on our doorstep. We are very careful not to light matches or smoke around George as previous keyboard players have spontaineously combusted.
In 1997 George provided the sonic landscape for the album HAPPY and the remix HAPPIER album. It's the best record we'd made until IMPERFECTION came along in 2003. We are alive and well. We still love what we do and July 2003 saw the release of our most recent album IMPERFECTION. George is no longer part of the live band however he’s still involved in our music and this site. Our original drummer Danny is writing some new stuff for a new Real Life release.
