Real Ones are five childhood friends from Bergen, Norway. Adding psychedelic zest to a city that has already provided the likes of Royksopp, Annie and Kings of Convenience, here is a group that are more than deserving to be born from such an intimate, and acclaimed stable.
These five close comrades who have played together since they were young teenagers, mould a magical kaleidoscope of sound. Having known each other for so many years, it should come as no surprise that despite Real Ones’ sound bouncing with tangents, it’s so precise and complete. There’s the hearty, autumnal nature of warm folk, interspersed with a swirling psychedelic brood. Throw in a wave of cute three-part harmonies, and some devilishly intoxicating melodies to result in one fulfilling, head-spinning brew.
You’ll hear the zany joy of The Flaming Lips, the cocooning otherworldly warmth of alt-country lynchpins Wilco, with the universal thoughts and perspectives of The Band. You'll hear how they are inspired by African, Indian and Chinese folk music. Ultimately, you’ll hear Real Ones, and that’s one glorious world to find yourself floating in. Channelling this into a pulsing glitter ball and firing it from a canon, Real Ones possess the magic that has already enraptured audiences across Northern Europe and America.
