Sounds Like"Awesome"
Matt 'MV' Valentine

"Charming, ramshackle album that whirls and fidgets round the muddy pastoral fields of middle England; here, a little Robyn Hitchcock, there some Syd Barrett whimsy and Swell Maps pout... even the odd sarcastic E. Smith colloquialism. Nice."
Everett True, Plan B Magazine

"The Message Tapes are played out on an acoustic guitar, but with Leonard’s slightly distant vocal. Containing an off the wall sample and his dry, infectious picks, this is just totally compelling material. A very clever and intriguing collection".
Manchester Music

"Music For A Slow Motion Film sees Adam sitting on a rock on the sea shore playing a mandolin while the wind whips his gravelled voice into a swirling echo".
'Careless Talk Costs Lives' Magazine

"Spooky and effect-laden, like George Harrison trying to write his own version of Space Oddity. A round of applause please for Mr. Adam Leonard".
PLAYLOUDER

"A Drakeish air and an English drift".
fROOTS Magazine

"Leonard can't resist throwing something in every now and again to keep you on your guard... it all works brilliantly".
manchestermusic.co.uk

"Adam Leonard claims to have been found in the Manchester Ship Canal by an eskimo when he was 25. I can only assume that someone must have mistaken his music for the wailing of a couple of alley cats and tried to drown him by tying him in a bag and throwing him in. Full marks for the nice packaging though".

   About Real Wood Records
Flymo Folk purveyor Adam Leonard was discovered in the Manchester Ship Canal by an Eskimo, aged 25. He enjoys Columbo and likes to play the mandolin at parties looking not unlike John Peel miming Maggie May. His non award-winning album 'How Music Sounds' was released by Real Wood in 2003, and followed up with the internationally ignored 'How Real Is Real?' mini-album and 'The Message Tapes' EP in 2004.

2005 saw the release of the Exciting Sandwich 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' remake and a Robyn Hitchcock spoof-song project with Gareth Davies. The rarities collection 'Leonardism' came along the 2007 platform like a warm train you thought you'd missed on a freezing wet morning.

Adam is currently working on new material for his next almost-solo album 'Nature Recordings' which features a number of lovely special guests. He continues to redefine the word exhaustion with his punishing live schedule. i.e. Nothing planned unless the money's big.

Hi and thanks for getting in touch from the world's smallest psych/prg record label, Fruits de Mer. Hope you and your friends enjoy our first single - new versions of opening track from The Small Faces' classic psych album (Ogden's Nut Gone Flake) + Van der Graaf Generator/George Martin's Theme One. It's playing now at www. myspace. com/fdmer & www. myspace. com/fdmer2 (big ideas, no money). Views, reviews, ideas for future releases all very welcome.

No politeness at all: Your music is so incredibly beautiful, especially on a spring day like this, that it sent us cold shivers down our spine. There's so much warmth and beauty in it. Thank you so much for the invitation, it's a pity we can't see you on stage!

Hey there Real Wood Records. Great stuff here - Robot Excape Bid is ace.

We have a new song up - "Dogs", a chilling tale of canine revenge. Unusually for a My Pilot tune, it's quite upbeat and even has a discernible tune. Check it out if you have a spare 3 minutes 40 seconds.

Cheers
