Dr. Nikitah Okembe-RA Imani serves as associate professor of sociology at James Madison University and associate graduate faculty member at Central Michigan University. He received his BSFS degree in international politics specializing in International Relations Law and Organization from Georgetown University (1989). He subsequently earned a master's degree in political science (1991), a master's degree in sociology (1992), and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Florida (1995). In 2002, Dr. Imani received a second doctorate in metaphysics from the Universal Life Institute. Dr. Imani was the co-author of The Agony of Education, (Routledge, 1996), and solo author of Mbongi (Reapalife, 2004)- a study of traditional African communalistic political institutions, Kinzonzi (Reapalife, 2004)- a study of African traditional conceptions of mediation and dispute resolution, as well as The One, The Two and the Three-collections of his pan-African poetry and writings. He has been a poet, filmmaker, rapper and musician in hip-hop for more than 20 years and runs his own entertainment company Reapalife Multimedia Edutainment (www.reapalife.com).
