From an early age Rebecca's parents encouraged her enthusiasm for all things musical with proper musical training. She had lessons in ballet, tap and jazz. She dabbled a bit in violin lessons, but informed her mother she didnt feel like a violin player. The flute became the next instrument and she played it until she landed her first role in a musical in high school. Her voice had become so powerful and expressive that she went on to study opera performance at the University of Michigan.
Not content with the repertoire of classical music, Rebecca expanded her vocal horizons to jazz, folk, rock, and funk, gospel and pop. Rebecca began performing alongside her husband Hans under the name Double Helix making their live debut at the 2000 Detroit Electronic Music Festival. After playing a limited number of performances over the next year in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area, double helix began a series of studio adventures that would yield recordings for Planet E (Detroit), Rush Hour (Amsterdam), Ypsi United (Ypsilanti), Emoticon (Glasgow), and Transmat (Detroit). They also had the privilege of playing at the 2003 Movement Festival (the fourth annual version of the DEMF).
Today in the year 2007
Rebecca Anderson is now a woman who's main purpose is to see souls saved, healed, delivered, and set on the path to fulfilling the destiny that God created them for. Rebecca's desire is not to just sing pretty songs, but instead to sing songs that produce His voice of Life. Rebecca is passionate about hearing what The Holy Spirit is speaking and seeing the Glory of God manifested throughout the earth. There are a million beautiful voices in the world but the voice that we all long to hear really is the voice of our creator. Rebecca is not longer interested in a pretty voice she is only interested in HIS VOICE.
Rebecca is currently working with Producer The Holy Spirit on the whatever He wants to do project.
