"Seattle songwriter Rebecca Cohen is the whole package.
She composes crafty, relevant songs and performs them with skill and charming enthusiasm. Her lyrics are smart and deftly constructed, and her melodies are big and original. Rebecca's stage persona is likeable and unabashed, and she presents her songs with a voice that is at once strong and intricate. Rebecca's songs are a big happy dog that sidles up, licks your face, then curls up on top of your chilly little toes."
Rebecca Cohen, like her songs, is playful, passionate,
and clever, and should not be missed!"
-Scott Katz, Seattle songwriter extraordinaire
Originally from the Boston area, Rebecca Cohen has been singing since childhood, been writing songs since 1990 and playing bass since 2001. Since 1993 she has performed at the Northwest Folklife Festival, the erstwhile Honey Bear Bakery, and numerous coffeehouses and house concerts in western Washington.
A seasoned and personable performer, she is a colorful, clever, engaging entertainer whose passion for life is infectious: she'll have you singing along in no time. Rebecca's smooth, soulful alto voice will steal your heart; her songs are rich with images, emotion, humor and intelligence, ranging in style from chants to country to folk. Rebecca's songs and vocal style have been compared to Emmylou Harris and the early work of Joni Mitchell, though both are uniquely her own.
Hey! How's the CD coming along? I've just posted a new song. Take a listen when you get a chance! The end's messy but I'm looking into getting a more solid band together to clean it up.
Hello Rebecca, I saw you perform with Jennifer and Jean ...I loved how the three of you shared the night. Thanks for accepting me as a new "Friend" ~ Cherie

Thanks for the "friends" add! I took a listen to your new songs and they sound great! Can't wait to hear more. Also, kudos to your photography work with the recent Nancy K. photos (she told me you took 'em) Bravo!
