Someday I'll get my website up and running again. There was a "Great Pickers" page on there, on which I listed, well, all the great pickers! | | Music | A few people have asked me lately why I started flatpicking. One reason is that, as a youngster, I loved old music. I loved 60's and 70's rock, and I connected with music that tied to traditional mountain music. I started playing guitar when I was 12, and I learned all sorts of tunes in my spare time. When I started transcribing solos, I started learning a few Jerry Garcia solos. I assumed that anyone taking a solo on an acoustic guitar was "flatpicking." Several musicians pointed out, "That's not bluegrass guitar." Though I didn't understand at the time, I began to understand that bluegrass guitar has its own language. I studied that style because I loved playing it. Years ensued during which I did nothing but play the guitar all day (and night). Learning solos, transcribing, picking with friends, arranging with bands, songwriting, singing, listening, hanging around festival campfires, and performing have been the stuff of my life for a long time now, and I really dig it. I love the people, and I love the laughs and the good times. I met my husband and many wonderful friends by following this passion. I try to learn more each day. It's a humbling pursuit. | | Heroes | There are so many heroes. My main heroes are Mr. Fraz and my parents! Keeline and Chula rank pretty high. |

About me:
On August 19, 2006, my name changed from Rebecca Bryan Hoggan to Rebecca Hoggan Frazier. I married my best friend and favorite musician, John Frazier.
I grew up in Richmond, Virginia. I also spent much time on the Chesapeake Bay shore and in the Blue Ridge Mountains. My family has been in the state since 1611.
I'm a full-time musician. My main thing is flatpicking (bluegrass) guitar and singing. I play guitar and sing with Hit & Run,(www.hitandrunbluegrass.com), Donna Hughes (www.donnahughes.com), and do freelance musical projects in the studio and on the stage. I also play mandolin and sing with my classic country band, the All Night Honky Tonk All Stars out of Boulder. Oh, don't forget I'm a member of Jon Stickley & Friends (www.myspace.com/stickleymusic)

Who I'd like to meet:
think I'd only like to meet people who want to meet me. I'm interested in meeting sincere people who have a passion for life. I'd like to meet people who make me laugh and have good vibes. These are qualities I admire in my own family members, and I've been lucky enough to be exposed to incredible people who stay true to themselves.
