Growing up in a dilapidated seaside town at the foothill of a mountain in north Wales, Rebecca Jade abandoned school at 14, studied performance art and fully immersed herself in guitar playing and song- writing. Having decamped to London a decade ago, her songs are infused with melancholy and melodrama: reflecting a wayward rural childhood and adolescence, and the ramshackle existence and experiences of the city.
RJ currently plays with Andrew 'One Cup' Pridding on bass guitar and vocals, Odel Lennon Jeffries drums on these recordings, and James 'Mori' Moriaty has just joined us on drums.
Our first gig (acoustic) with Mori, Echo Strikes Out Alone. This was in a treehouse in Regents Park, organised by Power Down:
The same gig, playing performing new song Willow Walk.
Be My Any Port live at Ryan's Bar, December 08. One of our last gigs with Odel on drums. We're about 9minutes in: SEW@Ryans Xmas 7th Dec 08
Rebecca Jade is also a singer and percussionist in the vocal harmony girl group, Citizen Helene & The Racists. There are a few lovely gigs coming up so do have a look at the profile below. RJ also DJ's under the alias The Lost Chord of Atlantis, hosts the 1969 Baby! club and co presents the gLASS sHRIMP show on Resonance FM. One Cup is Sky Comes King, Mori drums for Sunlight Service Group and Odel Lennon Jeffries is The Night Terrors.

Need convincing? Read the following review from Aaron
Kupferberg’s Powerpopaholic blog:
“Scott writes sweet
melodic piano pop in the tradition of the 60's and 70's with a Tin Pan Alley
touch. The title track is an intro to "This Little Samba" a bossa
nova beat driven tune that recalls those light Burt Bacharach songs with a wry
humor about a wandering mojo. Todd Rundgren fans will surely appreciate the
bouncy "The First Assault Upon My Day" which sounds like it fell off
of Something/Anything. Scott's diverse influences are both immediate and
enjoyable. The wonderful "Real Estate" shows off some excellent
arrangements that recall mid 70's McCartney with true affection. Even with the hilarious ending song
"Start the Day" you can't help think of Brian Wilson in the sandbox
making up the words as he goes along.” (on CD).
