The Rebecca Padula Band is an exciting new trio that brews up an original
dark folk-rock espresso with a shot of bluegrass and a hint of jazz. Rebecca's smoldering alto and a simmering veteran rhythm section combine to create a combustive mix of Americana.
Rebecca plays acoustic and electric guitars and is the group's primary
singer and songwriter. She holds a double degree in music and journalism
from St. Michaels College, has penned more than 40 original songs and
released 2 independent albums: Time, speed & distance (2003) and Waterfront (1997) and has been performing her original solo material at coffeehouses and events throughout Vermont and New England for the past 15 years. She is an activist for independent media and media literacy, and is producer of The Instant Coffeehouse, a monthly public access TV program that started in 2004 to showcase contemporary singer-songwriters. She has opened for Patty Larkin, Sally Taylor, Vance Gilbert, Rachel Bissex, Rod McDonald, Gregory Douglass, and Jim’s Big Ego. She was a founding member of the Burlington, VT songwriter’s Co-Operative (1999), a finalist in the Solar Fest songwriter’s competition (2000), alternate (2004) and finalist in the Philadelphia Songwriters Project’s road songs contest (2004).
