Rebecca Pronsky continues to stake her claim as one of New York's finest young singers and songwriters. Rebecca's songs are "literate, passionate, and wry" (TIME OUT NY) with "brutal, cutting lyricism" (ITHACA TIMES), and "are lent authority by her big jazz-trained voice" (VILLAGE VOICE). She has travelled the country showcasing her country-tinged pop-noir songs, sharing stages with the likes of Freedy Johnston, Steve Forbert, Carrie Rodriguez, Josh Ritter, Patty Larkin, Erin McKeown, Catie Curtis, and Loudon Wainwright III, among others. Her Nine Mile Records debut 'Departures & Arrivals' was named a Top Ten Album of 2008 by the Philadelphia City Paper and has been featured on XM Radio. Her new EP 'The Best Game in Town' is out now.
"Departures & Arrivals is most polished effort yet with a distinct country-pop flavor. Pronsky [is] one of the rising stars of Brooklyn's indie music scene... With slicker, ballsier vocals and jazzier progressions than your average folksinger, she bridges the gaps between folk, Americana, jazz, and indie pop" ~ East Bay Express
Critics' Pick Top Ten Album of 2008 "Rebecca Pronsky struck a deep chord on last year's Departures & Arrivals, with a little twang and a lot of empathy." ~ Philadelphia City Paper
"A huge voice with songs to match: file under talent yet to be discovered This is a definite grower as the songs reveal their secrets with repeated listens... a cut above your average female singer songwriter... I bet she’s phenomenal live." ~ Americana UK
"Listening to Rebecca Pronsky’s new EP 'The Best Game in Town' invokes probably the strongest feelings of western nostalgia you could possibly experience in the comfort of your Brooklyn home. Despite her NY roots, her passionate vocals and textured sandy tones vibe a southern belle who just wandered off the range to find herself eye-level with a mic... Her heart-lorn loneliness combined with her openly friendly and observational disposition draw the listener into her graceful lyrics.... Once again, Rebecca Pronsky has proven that songwriting is her game and she knows how to deliver it best – through impressively simple production." [Rated A] ~ Jezebel Music

Sound waves: turning voices. Quarteto vocal em ondas semi-controladas. Absurdo local e a periferia histórica. O "real" nasce da linguagem no preciso momento da percepção & feedback.
I'd love to do the Hole in the Wall show! I was just about to add it to my calendar. Let me know if you need other bands for your other shows. We have a very creative and full circle of musicians.
Hi Rebecca.. Thanks for taking the time to listen! Sounds great especially "Digging graves" I hope the week to come, will be a great one!! Have fun, Josh
This month we mostly have Catie Curtis (with a Richard Thompson cover), Lindsay Fuller and The Cheap Dates (and who amongst us isn't?), Josh Fix with a track from the well-titled album This Town Is Starting To Make Me Angry and the rather lovely Red Rooster.
Hi Rebecca, love your stuff! First found you at Reverbnation and left you message there. Wish we could get on over to see you! Maybe one day. Cheers, craig And Auriol Hannaford
