Growing up in North West England; Rebecca Rothwell sang songs from the Beatles to the Stones while her dad strummed along on the guitar. One day, her father bought Rebecca her own guitar; she took it, sang with it and started to write.
Rebecca's popularity has sprouted since XFM's Clint Boon featured one of her demos. She's also sang at a Coronation Street Wedding, to Man Utd., to the members of the Masai Marra tribe and even the odd Arabian billionaire!
As well, as racking up gigs at London venues including The Old Blue Last, 93 Feet East, The Borderline and the Soho Revue Bar supporting the likes of Theoretical Girl, Laura Marling, Hafdis Huld, Polly Polusama, Julian Velard and Mark Morris (Blue Tones); Rebecca has been playing boutique festivals including Secret Garden Party and Bloom Fest, and starting up her own night Future Divas.
Rebecca is currently working on new material with Dave Kosten who recently
produced Bat for Lashes stunning debut album, recent chart toppers Mint Royale as well as long standing collaborations with Dave Luke of the
critically acclaimed My Computer.
As a songwriter for other artists Rebecca has also worked on tracks for the likes of Bless Beats (Wiley, DJ Ironik) with a number of artists lined up to work with her in 2009 though like everything in music it's all a little bit hush hush at the mo...
