After playing 6 years on Frankfurts soundsystem-legend Raggagum, the selectors Ableton, Karsten & Thomas start to build up Rebel Rock in december 2004. Since then they made themselves a little name with their unique entertainment, juggling between old and new, from Rocksteady, Roots Reggae & Rub-A-Dub to the latest jump-up Dancehall. In 2005 Rebel Rock played mostly in Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main-Area at Clubs like Tanzhaus-west, o25 or Funkadelic, and Cities like Mainz, Mannheim, Chemnitz, Cologne (Summerjam festival) or Bad Kreuznach, always taking the opportunity to improve the sound and satisfy the whole crowd.
In 2006 a new member, the selector called Raw, also known for his work on the monthly radioshow “Sunday Dancehall” on local station Radio X, joined the sound. That led to more versatility and guaranteed an always-up-to-date status as Raw is very deep into everything with the “brand-new” stamp on it. Two regular dances in Frankfurt were started over those two years with a good turnout at first and ended as soon as it slowed down. With into 2007 Rebel Rock played memorable shows like the Anniversary Bashment alongside Firevibez & Mighty Sixteen in Frankfurt and dances in Berlin, Saarbrücken, Chemnitz and Mannheim again.
In December 2007 Rebel Rock started a next regular event in Frankfurt called Dancehall Vibration in cooperation with Firevibez Sound at the very prestigious club Nachtleben (translated: Nightlife). In May 2008 Firevibez decided to leave their sound and the dance up for good to focus on other careers like playing on the well-known Soundbwoys Destiny. Rebel Rock quickly found a new partner for the event in selector Daniel Safir formerly known as Bangarang Sound. This collaboration was the basis for a next step for Rebel Rock as they joined forces in 2009 and Daniel becomes the next recruit of the sound. Rebel Rock now consists of 5 crewmembers, namely: Ableton (selector/MC/promotion), Thomas (selector/tech/engineering), Karsten (selector/graphics/web), Raw (selector/vibes) and Daniel Safir (selector).
