Bed Bugs

Photobucket

I've been busy since Bed Bugs was finished. You can check out one of my recent projects,WRITERS BLOCK, a dark short film series about a young writer struggling to discover what makes a good story while at the same time looking for the connection between some unsettling events in his life. The short film series was commissioned by iThentic and the Independent Film Channel (IFC). The task was to create stories about storytelling using readily available, consumer video camera equipment. I shot with the Canon HV20 camcorder and a Redrock M2 adapter. Friends filled the acting roles, and the crew totaled three people including myself. Just shows what you can do on a shoe string!

Wanted: Songs and Scores for a Movie

Are you in a band? Do you have a friend that writes songs? Here is your opportunity to have your song featured in a movie.

The film is 7 different stories that connect in the end. Every story is different. There is a romantic, a comedy, a drama, a horror, an action, a kung-fu and a western. The options are endless and so are the amounts of songs you can enter in.

I really like the MySpace community, and I know there are many talented people who have yet to be recognized. Well, here’s your opportunity to shine.

All you need to do is e-mail us an MP3 of your song to joelvallie@yahoo.com with the subject line reading: C.D.C. Musician. We do require that the song be entirely original in both lyrics and melody.

We’re looking for all different sounds and genres. If you are in a band or know of a band or songwriter that is not one of my “MySpace Friends” already, tell them to send me a friend request and I’ll add them.

Once the musicians have been chosen, we will contact them and mail a few forms to fill out giving us permission to use the songs in the movie. (The song will only be used in this movie and its’ soundtrack) We have a small theatrical release and we have a guaranteed distribution of this movie on DVD in almost 30 different countries as well as in 3 different languages.

This is a low budget film so unfortunately we will not be able to pay you for the use of your song, but you will receive a lot of publicity, international exposure, credit in the movie, and a free copy of the movie on DVD.

The contest begins December 5 and will end December 14, 2007. Good Luck!

Thank you,

Joel Vallie

Thanks for the add.

It's not often a book about film making manages to shock me, but your's did (in a very positive way).

Your take on DV post production is one of the smartest things I've read in years... of course, now it means I've got to get myself up to speed in After Effects! LOL

Hi Stu! I'm currentli filming my new short movie over the weekends and IO have to say that your book has made things a lot easier for me than my previous filmmaking efforts. Lots of useful stuff and above all a more intelligent way to approach a shooting.

Thanks, and keep up the good work
