About me:
Raised in the desert southwest, west Texas, and the Texas Hill Country, I was constantly surrounded by music. When my family got together the instruments all came out and we sang and played country, bluegrass and Irish shanties all night long. At an early age I developed a love of old western music. This love came from exposure to summers full of Chuckwagon dinners listening to former Sons of the Pioneers members playing those songs the way they were meant to be played, with a heavy beat, vocal melodies, and a sheer love for the music, which was contagious. My own personal journey into musicianship began like so many others, sitting in my room and trying to play an untunable guitar along to Black Sabbath. It progressed from there into playing in metal and punk bands. Soon it was blues that grabbed my heart and never let go. I love "outlaw" and alternative country, especially with that heavy blues mixture in so much of it.
I love sound. I think people that truly love music all really love sound. Along that vein, I am always listening to sounds. That has taken me many places and plenty of places left to go. I am excited about every musical journey I take and a new direction I am working on is exciting me just as much as the first time I heard a guitar. Stay tuned for something you probably never expected...
Who I'd like to meet:
New project in the works...
I am happy to be teaming up with an amazing producer. He is going to produce and engineer the new album, which is great, but we are going to work with mixing our styles and seeing where it takes us. Trance meets blues. Awesome.
Currently trying to spearhead a project with other local singer/songwriters.
The idea behind the project is, on the one hand, to have a permenant circle of songwriters coming and going. This deal would help to showcase each performer and provide a built in support and back-up band.
New album, "Desert Ghost", is being worked on right now!!!
My first entirely solo project, and its coming along nicely. Its going to have mainly new material, but I will have at least one song from the DIXIE MUDPIE days. And I will be doing one cover, at this point looks like "Stormy Monday".
