    RECession Festival says goodbye for now and hope you got some great concert experiences. It has been a successful experience for the crew in RECession, and it has at some point cost a little sweat to get the puzzle to move up, especially with a program of 9-10 bands every evening on Vestergade 58. This would not be possible witout the volunteers who helped, both our own stagehands and the volunteers at the venues. A big thanks to you. We wish to thank the venues Voxhall, Vestergade 58, Gallery V58 and Sct. Paul's church because they managed to create some great opportunities on the venues For RECession, and a big thanks to the amazing bands that played there. Also a big thank to our sponsors / partners who have contributed to our festival. Thank you for this year and see you soon!

    RECession is a Danish festival that has its focus on music that is different, upcoming and has something unique to offer. Our greatest mission is to keep people culturated by presenting music for them that you won..t experience on every club around the corner. We like to challenge the listener and give them new inputs that sometime will shake their grounds. The bands we represent is musicians that have something on their hearts, and we have focus on the performance of the acts, and how they choose to deliver their vibe or message.

    RECession believes in doing things differently and focussing on ongoing change and innovation across various interest and preferences.

    We wan't to enchance the cultural awareness in Aarhus using tolerance, open-mindness, and determination Our main focus is music with a message. We're always on the lookout for interesting acts with something on their mind. Music which isn't mainstream but is on the borderline of beeing something different than what you would expect.

    ”Our foremost assignment is to continuously keep creating a festival that represents music on the edge. Music which gives people a uniqe experience, thats why our program is always full of bands you can't quite place”, says Kim Holm, general manager. Theese are the bands people remember in the future and in time is regarded as groundbreaking artist.

    The contrast and dynamics RECession has, in it's nine years of existence, aimed at people who are curious of what happens at the musical frontier in a broad perspective of different genres. Although RECession focusses on independent music. The festival has still been able to present a lot of prominent names in various genres to much appreciation for our audience and the citizens of Aarhus.

    RECession wants different artists that pushes different buttons on the audience. The energetic and outgoing performance, but also the more spiritual and inwards seeking perfomance. ”By combining these two kind's of approach to music, we get some exciting concerts and last but not least a great variation in the festival program”, says general manager Kim Holm. He continues and says that all in all what the festival is looking for is a broad selection of as many different induviduals as possible, because that is what creates a great atmosphere on the festival.
