Recoil has a sound that is a mix of many of our influences ranging from the fast thrash metal of Kreator, Children of Bodom and early Metallica, to the slower groove metal sound of Machine Head and Pantera, while also having a taste of the classic metal and progressive sounds of Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper.
We are RECOIL: a four piece metal band from Cumbria with a passion for heavy music. Look out for us playing gigs with a number of other local metal bands. With a musician whose influences are so diverse, expect this session to draw in all kinds of music and be concerned with quality work, both in song writing and composition. *limited spaces still available*
A&R Panel Session / 6pm - 7.30pm
Faced with the shrinking profits, record labels are adopting a new approach. So do bands and artists now need to do the same? How do artists generate interest from record and publishing companies to begin with? What are the terms of a deal likely to be these days? This panel contains a broad cross-section of contemporary thought, on how artists can cultivate their own careers.

Hi, We are headlining the 3rd Annual Music Awards at The Canteen on Monday 29th December and we are nominated for 4 awards which includes: Best CD, best song, best band and best live act! It is decided by a panel of judges, although the best song award is decided by votes so if you get a minute we would really appreciate it if could please e-mail thecanteen@mac.com and tell them you want "I don't like you" by CodeJAK to win best song. It's this Monday so time is running out.
With another year winding down to the end comes the end of year awards - and the return of the TGM Awards. The awards are back for its fifth year, hoping to be as successful as last year's.
To anyone who is new to this, the TGM Awards is an annual end of year awards event, which celebrates the best local bands in Cumbria and South West Scotland. And with many local acts battling for awards, there is so much to choose from.
We can confirm that Recoil have 1 nomination:

Voting will begin on Saturday 22nd November and close on Friday 19th December, and the winners announced in the run up to Christmas.
