We're a Grand Forks (North Dakota) band that started as my(Jason's)science project. I have been a song-writer since my first guitar at age 14. My first and only inclination ever, was to write music, and have pursued it for over 20 years.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com
Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.
Thank You.

Thanks man. I was trying to see what it would sound like to mix a choir, a banjo, and an 808 together. I'm still digging on Long Time Coming. Seasons and Sparrow in a Hurricane are particularly tasty.

As far as Dickensons Crowley goes, I have not read the book, but I do have a copy of the movie, its pretty silly. There are some really cool scenes, but for the most part its rubbish. ...You have the same love and devotion to music going on inside you to ! Keep up the great work man !
Hey Jason, to reply to what you said on my page...Arcana and Wept's music is what it is. I wouldn't want to go back and change anything. They are dark and powerful works of exquisite art - forged from the world of the unseen !
thanks for checking us out - I'll check you out when not at work :-)
On those recordings there was no POD X3 as everything was recorded live into a 24 track. There's a bit of post processing afterwards using some of the delays and reverbs from my Toneport UX8 and the POD Farm plug-in which I can't recommend enough. May have possibly used that on some of the vocals too - which are to be honest a bit ropey - four songs down in eight hours and the vocals all taken in forty minutes - should revisit them.
Basically we went to a local studio for eight hours, recorded everthing in a couple of takes and I mixed it back at home in Cubase (but have now switched to Logic).
If you want to know anymore I'm happy to geek out about this stuff :-)
Sounds good. I will be posting all of our Local Statics it's just taking alittle long because of the video camera that I'm currently trying to sell. But yes it will be up on the site as soon as I can. : ) As for gigs, have you tried The Aquarium in Fargo, or The Red Raven in Fargo? If you go to my friends list and find 701 Crew, the guy (Lane Hoffer) who has that site is a local promoter in the Bismarck/Mandan area maybe he would also be able to help you guys out. Have you went into the Grand Forks Hot Topic and talked with them or gotten any info on any of the venues in Grand Forks? If I think of anymore I will be sure to let you know. Oh ya, also go into my friends list and go to "my categories" and into local promoters and there will me quite a few promoters in this state that also might be able to help you guys out.
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you guys. Been really busy around here haha Where would u like the video sent to? I will send it either Monday or Tuesday.
