Recycle is an influential punk band in Beijing. The band was formed in
October of 2001 by Vocalist/Guitarist Wang Yan, leading guitarist Wang Jian, and
drummer Liu Zhong, whom all adore life and wanted to change the traditional way
of a person’s thinking. This came from other bands at that time that also had an
abundant amount of experiences. They came together out of the common love
towards music and ideas. They soon began their regular rehearsal. Their progress
and acceptance by others should be attributed to their serious attitudes.
In 2002, the band's members changed. Bassist Peng Peng joined them, and the
former guitarist/vocalist of the band Reflector, Guo Feng, became the "new"
guitarist of the band. The two made the band more complete. In September of
2003, bassist Peng Peng left the band and Wang Yan developed himself as the
bassist/vocalist. They re-arranged their works and fixed the new formation of 3
members. Recycle set their style as Pop-Punk, processing some more different
factors along with it. Their novel arrangements have clear frameworks; swift
tunes show the youth's enthusiasm and impulse. The lyrics are based on their
real lives and self-examinations. They sound humorous and very reasonable.
After hundreds of live performances, Recycle formed their unique and
characteristic performing manner. They are completely frank and friendly in
their live shows and are well loved by fans. More and more friends join in on
their shows. They are aiming towards high-quality punk and tell their stories
via music, expressing their emotions and attitudes towards life. They advocate
peace, equality, the protection of ecology, and hope to improve the
surroundings.
