David Marshall

About me:

My name is David Marshall, and I've been fighting most of my life. I've had more street fights while growing up then I can remember, but none of them impacted my life more than the one where I got choked out. This led me to never want to get choked out again, and started my search for a suitable martial art. I had a failed stint with Wing Chun, but soon found my calling when I rented UFC 2 in 2001. After seeing a skinny Brazilian man named Royce Gracie destroy four larger men in one night I decided to learn more about his effective style known as Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Not too long afterward I started my Jiu-Jitsu training with Wade Vierra (a Cesar Gracie brown belt) at the Mixed Martial Arts Center in Sacramento, CA. Since then fighting has become more than part of my life, it is my life; I've fought in Mixed Martial Arts competition with a record of 4-1, and I plan on making it my career. I am motivated to train hard for self improvement. I hope to learn something from the simplest training routine that I may have already performed a hundred times. Knowledge has always been my motivation to keep training, and fighting seems almost a secondary goal; fighting is just the exhibition, and honing of my techniques against other martial artists.
