Red and Roxy began in a one room Adirondack cabin in 2003, as a folky husband and wife duo; love, life and nature inspired their first songs together. A year later, the duo found themselves in their native Buffalo, and they began playing shows at an eclectic list of venues, from Caz Coffee Cafe, to Mohawk Place, to Nietzsche’s, to The Tudor Lounge, and a host of outdoor festivals and parties. The smooth percussion of GT rounded out the early sound and got the groove established. The band was featured on WNYpodcast.com’s weekly music series in 2005.
R & R have been playing around Western New York regularly ever since, and continue to grow musically. 2006 saw the addition of Maria on violin, and last year, singer, songwriter and guitarist BA was recruited to add another dimension to the band’s set list.
Another recent new addition, in the form of Red Jr., has added further complexity to this already happening musical family. The band is currently working on their first album in their home studio and should be appearing at a host of venues in the coming year.
