Lead vocalist/Songwriter/Founder, ANDREA BATZ, began her musical journey very young…writing songs from the age of ten. Weaned on Motown and the Beatles, by her father who was a bass player in a sixty’s cover band and toured the UK, supporting various acts of the day including comedians, Bob Monkhouse and Freddie Star and artists like Marty Wild and The Searchers…. Andrea’s songwriting influences range from the artists of the 60’s to pumping Dance music from the 90’s. That being said, her main clinch is the ROCK of the 80’s, inspired by those memorable songs and hooks that reappear again and again……Andrea’s stage career began in the Primary School choir, making appearances at large venues, however, at 14 she appeared as vocalist for teen band, The Strawberry Blondes, a covers band for local pubs and clubs. After being spotted at age 15 after winning a talent quest, Andrea took a turn for what she thought was reality and went on to pursue a career as a Teacher, graduating from Chester University College in 1998. She has taught in the UK and in Australia, having many adventures in interesting places in this land of opportunity!…….After a while she realized her real calling was her music and with over a hundred songs in her head and songbooks, she decided to take action otherwise she would have gone crazy, enlisting the support of the Australian Songwriter’s Association and musician friends in various places, she was able to perform original songs at venues in Perth, the Kimberley and Melbourne, receiving great feedback for her songs, even getting people dancing to her originals on their first outing…She has recorded dance tracks in a UK studio and performed at several UK venues....Her musical journey continues with support from a Melbourne production company, hopefully you’ll be following the story as it unfolds!......... The image is based upon various influences; the sexy vampness of Elvira coupled with the high glamour of the pin-up world, the dramatic colours and reputation of the Redback Spider (being that the female is larger and has the red stripe, not to mention being more dangerous) and a love of the big Jeeps that crawl the aussie bush!.. Kind of adventure-glamour…”better things to do than sit around the house filing nails…gotta get out, swim in waterfalls and see sunrise in the middle of nowhere.…You can have nice nails and good clothes…just get them dirty from time to time!…..All the fun is in the details!”
