   About Red Barn Radio
Red Barn Radio is a syndicated weekly live radio broadcast that showcases musicians who all share one thing in common-- a love and passion for the music of Kentucky. Red Barn Radio programming, now in its seventh season, plays host to Kentucky's Master Old Time and Bluegrass musicians, while also reaching out to expert players in our neighboring states where Kentucky music has settled and flourished. Through weekly conversation and performance with accomplished and authentic practitioners of Mountain Music, Red Barn Radio programming enlivens and archives a tradition grossly underrepresented on a mainstream radio. All this from a show that is produced from live recordings in Lexington and the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. Our live tapings are open to the public and offer the live audience a unique opportunity to experience grassroots artists from Kentucky and around the globe. Then, our radio show brings this experience to the listening audience around the world.

We offer our one-hour program in the following formats:

- 59 minute public radio version with 1 break of 1 minute duration; break has a music bed for continuous play.

- 58 minute commercial version with 3 breaks of 2:05 each, with a music bed under each break.

Red Barn Radio Records is proud to announce the debut CD, Generations, from the New Kentucky String Ticklers!!!

Thanks for the add...glad to be one of the many Red Barn Radio Fans.

I listened to the McGuire Sisters on WCYO 100.7 fm on-line last Sunday and was very impressed with their performance...of course I am biased but Red Barn Radio/Ed Commons captured a classic performance of acapello gospel music by sisters who have sung together for decades. I am anticipating the repeat of the show on WRVK 1460 AM on September 8, 2008 7-8:00 pm also available on the internet. I consider the McGuire Sisters "family" I would love to hear comments from anyone who has listened to their performance: songs and stories.

Hope to see you at the opening of the 7th season of RED BARN RADIO on Wednesday evening, September 10 @7:00pm at the ARTS PLACE PERFORMANCE HALL on 116 North Mill Street... If you can't attend, catch Red Barn on you favorite radio station... Consider contacting your local/favorite radio station and requesting that they carry Red Barn's weekly one hour broadcast...

EAST KENTUCKY ARTIST CHOSEN BY MAKERS MARK

In March 2008, the famous Maker’s Mark Distillery sent out a call for artist to create a piece especially for an exhibit called The Mark of Great Art. Knott County resident and artist, John Haywood was chosen from over 120 artists to be among the 54 from across the state commissioned. Haywood will reveal his oil painting entitled “Old Kentucky Whiskey” at the show opening on September 5, 2008 in the gallery of the distillery in Loretto, Kentucky.

The show will be comprised of 115 pieces of artwork that will be broken up into 8 mini-collections after the initial opening. The pieces will, then, travel to bars and restaurants in Louisville, Lexington, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, New York, London, England, and Madrid, Spain where they will remain indefinitely. All who visit the Maker’s Mark Gallery between September 6-21 either in person or online (www. themarkofgreatart. com) can vote for their favorite piece. The three artists that receive the most votes will win monetary prizes from Maker’s Mark.

Haywood invites all to view “Old Kentucky Whiskey”. Other paintings and prints by Haywood can be seen by visiting his home studio on Little Doubles Creek, or online at www. haywoodart. com.
