About me: The Red Barn Community Music Series is a monthly concert series showcasing local, regional, and national musicians performing old time, bluegrass, swing, Celtic, blues, and other forms of acoustic roots music.
The Red Barn is located near the South Bay Community Center, next to the skate park in Los Osos on Los Osos Valley Road at the corner of Palisades. Heading west on Los Osos Valley Road, turn right on Palisades then immediately right into the parking lot, you'll see the barn. The show begins at 7:00 PM with pot luck supper and pot luck band starting at 6 PM. No tickets are required but a donation of $10 will be requested at the door. Beverages are available for a small donation.
Up for a challenge? I'm hosting a songwriters showcase at The Clubhouse in SLO on New Years Day. Unlike the usual Tuesdays at The Clubhouse, there will be no featured act. Instead, it's "New Songs for the New Year".
Here's the challenge: come out and perform a new song or two. This could be a song you've just written, or it could be a cover of a song that is new to you (suggestion: cover a local songwriter who could attend and enjoy the experience of hearing his/her song performed).
We'll pass the tip jar so that each performer can have a little gas money.
Let me know if you'd like to reserve a slot on this special showcase. It runs from 6:30-9:30. The number of songs will be determined by the number of performers. I'll send out an update as the list fills up.
