RED BERRY RECORDS!
We are the Sunshine Coast's ONLY Indie Record Label with our own purpose built, state of the art, vintage recording studio.
Nestled on an oasis of two and a half acres comprising of a flat land and gentle hills, the property overlooks the small town of Yandina, Qld, on the Sunshine Coast.
It features a ground up rebuild based on a John. L. Sayers design with acoustic consultation by Andrew Steel of Ultrafonic.
The studio boasts a 150mm floating floor and individual self resonating walls.
Every care has been taken to ensure a pristine acoustic recording environment that is neither too flat, or too live.
Most recording can take place in the control room, but a large live room is situated only meters from the studio which is tie lined connected.
This room features high ceilings and a wooden ambience.
The studio features a plethora of vintage and modern equipment boasting the Sunshine Coasts only Digi Design Pro Tools HD3 Accel System running up to 192 tracks.
Also available is 48 track Sony digital DASH tape, analog recorders and a great selection of vintage FX and synthesizers as well as serious valve mics and top quality pre's.
Over looking the swimming pool, and only 50 metres from the studio, there is also a luxury self contained artists retreat, with ensuite, spa and expansive views, sleeping up to five people.
Your host, John *Nymo* Nyman, has spent more than 30 years in the Australian music industry as a well known musician, mastering engineer/producer and technology trainer and facilitator.
The studio caters for all clients and offers multi track recording, on site recording, mastering, analog to digital transfer and forensic recovery.
Also available are recording courses and technology seminars.
No job is too large or too small and each is given the same amount of dedication and expertise.
Sounds Like
Starting in 1971 with a simple cassette player, Nymo began his experiments with Electronic music, making him one of Australia's Godfathers of this genre. Using his beloved first Mini Moog, he tortured his parents with, (for those days), unheard of sounds, running his Rhodes Electric Piano through pedals and recording them onto cassette. The 80's saw him move into the limelight as the Electronic sound of Geisha, a band that achieved major chart success, "straddling the border between straight rock and synth rock". (Check out:www.geishatheband.com for more) People magazine featured Nymo for his massive collection of Vintage Synths-one of the largest collections of its type. Into the 90's, Nymo's love for making twisted Dark Electronica with a Rock edge became well known. His music, full of Distorted Synths and Samples, took listeners for a road trip to the darkside. 1, 000's of downloads off MP3 and airplay on Triple JJJ helped drive Nymo to keep writing and producing more of his preferred intense style. These days he keeps himself busy with the studio, lending his 30 years of extensive musical experience to help younger musicians to reach their dreams. And of course he still enjoys going into his studio to make really bent sounds with his current Moog Modular.
Just some of the many Bands and Artists that Producer/Engineer/Masterer John *NYMo* Nyman has worked with over the years are:
Mettaphor, Sparse, Dave Flower, Carl Lynch, Col Meredith, Inez, Collision Theory, Craig Green, Ultra Violet:Shrinking Violets, Blackstone, Crash, Abstrax, Shamasi, Dead Dread, Vyrus, DJ Nitsu J, Digital Kaos, Kool Hand Luke, The Beach, Room 101, Bliss, Uncle Bob's Jug Band, Collision Theory, Asa Broomhall, SpunkyWinkerBean, Ennemas, Pixel Juice, Tourism, 7Teaze, Hot Stuff, Soultana, BombShelter, Glenda O'Sullivan, Lyndsay Phillips, Silver Sound Theorem, Pizzi, Rapture in the Reins, Magic Sally, plus many more....
