Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, William S. Burroughs, Noam Chomsky (although only occasionally really as he's a pretty hard read, but i will admit it even if no-one else will!) My Family, My Friends,My Girlfriend, Things That Happen Everyday, Waking Up, Going To Sleep, Love, No Love, The Opposite Of Most Things, Uninspiring Events, Cuddles/ Being Comforted, Being Active/Lazy, Beatles, Nirvana, Neil Young, The Shins, Nick Drake, Devendra Banhart, My Morning Jacket, Harry Partch, Howard Skempton, Shellac (Rapeman, Big Black), Why?, Wilco, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, and many more i sound NOTHING like so....(and i sound nothing like most of the things in my short list here)i would keep going but the list goes on and on and on and on, and i don't wanna have one of those rediculous lists that you see on here! The thing that inspires me the most is being able to create anything i want to, and never giving myself any boundaries to exist within (concerning my art/music), and most of all not care what other people think of the things i create. All of the above plus whats missing are/is very important to me and i hope i never lose any of it/them be it physically or in rememberence.

About Red Cassette
Before i get started i would just like to say that MySpace deleted my front cover image because it was deemed 'sexually explicit' if like MySpace you are offended by art i have now posted a censored version to keep you all safe from this undying evil that is pencil on paper. Go back to sleep world you are safe for another day...........
Red Cassette is a person. A person who writes and performs music, in
the song vernacular. A person who performs to people who want to
listen, and often to people who don't.
Since travelling with a group of 16th century minstrels and learning
the craft of 'meta-story' telling. He performed daily across several
countries with accompaniment from the rest of the minstrels. It was
an exciting time for him, as he larnt new skills and met many new
people and had wonderful adventures. But as with all stories it had to
end evenually with the goup disbanding. The group had taught him all
he needed and the time came to move on, and to find pastures new. He
decided to go it alone. Walking for miles each day, travelling from
village to village , he would sing his 'meta-stories' to the village
people. Some village folk would not enjoy the fruits of his heartfelt
labour and would refuse to listen, discarding it as ordinary. This
never deterred the singer and he kept on day to day performing and
writing.
After many years of playing to people this person new this was his
calling, and no matter how measly the pickings were and how few the
rewards he would battle on, battle against the people who had no time
for him, battle on against the struggle of financial stability and do
the best he could with what he had: The Gift of Music. For he realised
he was merely a vessel to carry the drink, and be ready for people to
sip from and taste the flavour of what he did. So, now you place your
lips to the edge of the glass, it may not be the nicest crystal wine
glass in the world, but its an honest one. Tip it and let the drink
pour into your mouth, just to see what its like.

We really appreciate the add, and we hope that you are enjoying our songs. You have a great sound, and your vocal inflections have a resonance similar to the best parts of Youth Group. We will be keeping an ear out for you.
You might also like the mellow indie-folk of my other project called “Of The Isles” [myspace. com/oftheisles]. I'm also recording in the bedroom on my own. Thanks again, and have a great summer in the UK (we can't wait to get back over there someday soon).

In my opinion these guys are destined for greatness, it felt like I was witnessing history being shaped-something was just so right about what they were doing up there.” Vibe Bar

Hey! Hope you are doing good. I wanted to let you know about a show i'm doing in London on Sunday, June 1st.
I'm touring with Tommy Allsup. He played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is the guy playing on songs like "Heartbeat", "It's So Easy", etc, etc.....he is 76 and still going strong.
He is a character.
Anyway, i would love to see you at the show. I think as a fellow musician that you will really appreciate seeing Tommy play, and listening to his stories! He is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens.
If you want to see Tommy in action....check out my blog. There is a video from last week in Nashville from the studio.
Take care, the music is sounding great, and i hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Kevin Montgomery
